fantastic racehorse!! one of the best i've seen or will ever see. unfortunately wasn't the same at 4 and should NEVER have run in the breeders cup after failing in it the year before!!!
george was a fantastic race horse who died way too early in his career he should never have gone to the breeders cup he had won enough that year and he should have stayed at home i have never forgiven adrian o brien for taking him to that race, this is a very fitting tribute to him

Was sterile. Brought back and thrown onto an unfamiliar surface with terribly sloppy conditions instead of the lawn in which he was a contender.
They knew exactly what they were doing = pay day.
I was like, "now why in the hell are they running this horse first time on this surface against the best dirt horses in the world on an off track to boot where he was completely unproven?"
No everything is ok I didn't know about him since the accident so I just go on internet to look for him and made a video about him so this is my apologize too!!
I agree but i also think aidan should of pulled him out as well he knew the ground was terrible why didnt he just bring him home and run him in big races in Ireland and UK...My favourite horse of all time!!
If the race had been held in the UK, it would never of gone ahead. I blame American Racing Authority for putting schedule ahead of the horses safety. I have UK owner never send a horse to the Breeder Cup again
i agree just like horatio nelson 1 of aidans horses he ran in derby k.fallon told him something was wrong with the horse and he broke his cannon bone just like g.washington a real shame both great horses with great breeding
He was a superstar and boy did he know that! Hindsight is a wonderful thing but he died giving all he had and you can bet Aidan O Brien was hurting as much as anyone. A scintillating horse in all respects.
Hey Horsefan2007 - What a great tribute. I was at the Breeders' Cup, first row at the top of the stretch and unfortunately witnessed the whole thing first hand. Very Sad. Frankly, I don't think they should have run him in that slop, but that's water under the bridge. Gorgeous George was a champion thru and thru, even as he stood there at dusk at Monmouth, poised and calm. He is worthy of tribute, and you made a great one for him. Thanks a lot, from all of us other fans out here.
i went down to monmouth and i broke down in tears after that last race... probably one of the most terrible experiences of my life.. but you can't win em all, after all i was never happier than when my grandfather brought home the breeders cup wit royal academy in 1990.. thank you for this awesome tribute, its what he deserved
He belonged to my father.. he was my favorite horse, when i walked him around the yard he would look down on the horses, knowing that he was better than them, even the likes of dylan thomas..
No matter how much we race and breed them, horses don't get faster. They will forever remain as fast as they need to be to escape the lion chasing it. Unfortunately, they never escape the greed, glory-chase, and terrible judgment of humans.
george you will alway be with us in spirt yet one more to add to champs to meet in horsey heaven....may your leagend be forever told on to generation beond us.. you deserve it one of hope, love, victoreys and memories. you will forever have a place in my heart. with other great befor and after you.may we hold you dear for eternities.RIP beautiful one. <3 <3 <3
Nice video; I enjoyed seeing the footage of his European races, something we rarely get here on the other side of the pond. But, did you really have to include the graphic photo of the injury? I mean, they put the screens up at the track to provide the horse with a little dignity. I ask respectfully-no criticism intended. His death really ruined the day. Poor George; I wish he'd stayed retired.
You can't entertain a horse with cartoons,
religion, or physics when they are sick.
Well maybe music might soothe them
and make living worthwhile.
