The Vikings actually kicked Finlands ass, invaded them and rode their women. The Finnish tribes never conquored anybody. They did have a 'Crusade' (ha ha) back in the middle ages when they grabbed a swamp off the Russian tribe in the area. But I can't say much against the Finns coz there is nothing to say about them. Please forgive my ignorance. Thank you for the correction. Finns are Slavic not Scandinavian. During the Viking period of history (8th to 12th century) they may have had loose alliances with Vikings but also were raided by them. Sweden conquered Finland in the 12th century.

First of all,the Finnish language is a member of the Finno-ugric branch of languages.They are pretty close to the Estonians and distantly related to the Hungarians(believe it or not,hehe).And of course either of them are Slavic.And being under the Swedish empire so many years they have a great deal of Nordic genes.really, theres nothing slavic about the finns,mate.

Our ethnics came from central Europe where Finnish-ugrian population started to move north in scandinavia and baltics.
