Yes, but this device sucked. It worked in theory, however I could never do anything useful with it. It was a joke. I threw mine away. My motorola Droid is more powerful than this so called tablet pc, lol.

@filmftw3 - I wouldn't say it's more powerful per se. The OS you use is a lot different and designed for low power computers. But I agree, the performance of this tablet would be agonizingly slow.

You just HAVE to admit that this is better than an iPad! The ONLY drawbacks are its size and short battery life, but at least this has a PURPOSE, whereas iPad cant multi-task, it doesn't have any USB slots nor does it have better hardware than this. Talk about 7 years of "evolution". All we need now is a rumored iSlate which connects to your iPad and makes an over-sized Apple Nintendo DS...

this is from 2003, and it's up to 1.6ghz and has an XGA screen, some usb ports, actual pen input and a keyboard.

Clearly in Cupertino, "revolutionary" means something completely different to in the rest of the world.

I hope no-one buys the iPad just for one reason- so Apple realize there not actually at the cutting edge!

It's been three months since you asked. By now you probably have a better idea of what a tablet pc can/cannot do. All tablet pc screens and pens are manufactured by Wacom. They all have the same specs, like 256 levels of pressure. A basic entry-level Bamboo has 512, Cintiq 1024 and Intuos4 2048. All in all for basic sketching inking etc, it works. A Cintiq might just be a lot more responsive and precise than a tablet pc's digitizer. It's meant for writing but will work fine for on-the-go art.

Not 100% true, some, especially early fujitsu's use a "light overlay" thing... something along those lines..... there own technology.... though that also unfortunately makes the pen's cost a fortune

Tablet PC manufacturers now use Wacom's digitizer technology because it's the only one that has battery-less pens. And people hate dealing with batteries.

(((TC1100))) - Screen is beautiful, if keyboard a bit plasticky. Runs Vista (but not Aero) and attracts girls too. The TC1100 is the one to get, yes I know it's discontinued but nothing else is as good.

You turn the screen round away from the keyboard and it clips to the keyboard 'face up'. Or you can detach the keyboard altogether. The screen is tempered glass, not vinyl.

It's workable and adapts to your handwriting. If you hate it, spend the extra 80 bucks for a navisis wacom adapter, it works fine regardless.
