Also, look at the video again, you will see that the police were the ones who got too close the students, not the other way around. They were the ones who turned a peaceful protest into a brawl. The students merely asserted their right to assemble, and blocked the cops' path to grabbing other students and physically pulling them out. The police were well aware of the goal and destination of the march to Tollman Hall, and made the conscious decision to get violent with us once we got there.
As UC students, you guys should look at it both ways. I'm pissed about the fucking tuitions too, but getting too close to the cops and crying in their faces was pointless. Be a little bit smarter next time and stay a little more civilized. I thought you guys were UC students come on.
@MoarPewPewPlz Actually, it was the police who made it physical by trying to prevent students from entering the building and throwing out students who had entered. We did not provoke the violence that the police directed at us- they were the ones behaving in an uncivilized manner when they started beating and literally tossing people around. Students with the large boards were trying to form a wall to prevent the police from assaulting anyone else, and were themselves attacked in the process.
