@nkk20012001 The can`t say the joker did it because he was too busy messing around with the ferries. Plus, he was already arrested in the previous scene...
I just love the music in the background I always listened to when I had the movie on my iPod but I had to delete for more space and now apple charging me 10 bucks to Redownload it. :( I loved this part
I Never get tired of watching that scene! both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are amazing in there own right, with TDK raising the bar ever so slightly. I REALLY hope The Dark Knight Rises can live up to everyone's expectations and after seeing inception I am quietly confident that TDKR will solidify Nolan as one of the great directors of modern action cinema...If he is not there already.
I think of of the reason why people more like batman than other heroes is that batman has been described like a really human being, he will get hurt, he will blood, he will cry, he do has negative side, he will do everything which human will do, except he has a stronger soul, thats why he can take it, thats why he is the hero we deserve.
Anyone see the common theme that Nolan tries to explore in his movies - the notion of creating our own reality - real or fake - that will make us happy
Memento: Lenny chooses to accept his reality that John G is alive and his search is never-ending, but that keeps him happy
Dark Knight: Alfred burns Bruce's letter & Batman takes Harvey's fall to preserve his reputation and keep Gotham hopeful
Inception: Cobb ignores the totem and chooses to see his kids instead
goosebumps and even a hint of manly tears occurred. perfect ending. This too me is one of the only movies that feels like more than a movie like genuinely. If you understand what I mean, you'll know the feeling
"Hes the hero gothm derserves but not the one it needs right now" that can go with Bush in 2008, Hes the president America deserves right now but not the one it needs right now
@RemBlu Ilm talking about is that Dent like Obama during 2008 and Gordon like McCain, Bush fled the white house because the president america deserved but not the one it needed, so as Gordon or McCain said, "So we'll hunt him"
@schapadap What I meant was that you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villian. Now in 9/11 america did look towards Bush as a hero but that fame died down because he was in Office for longer.
@Stormeyworld And I read that there's this super emotional scene in The Dark Knight Rises. I'm suppose to go see it with all my friends, I hope there ready to see me cry, LOL!
But he didn't kill remirez the female cop because when he flipped the coin the unburnt side was up. Then he said after flipping the coin you live to see another day detective. Watch the film again man
@vinnievu1 well the movie was cut short 34 min cause it had been too long but i know for sure that Christopher Nolan (director) had more scenes of Harvey killing killing ppl that was not aired. I am assuming the ppl he killed in those cut scenes were cops. Unfortunately you can't always anticipate where the cuts will need to be made in the editing room.
Both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight had extremely well written endings. Batman Begins ended with Batman telling Gordon he'd never have to thank him for protecting Gotham--it showed Batman's sense of honor and selflessness in his commitment to justice. The Dark Knight continues that trend, but goes on to explain how Batman isn't a shining hero to be put on display, but the standalone outcast who is still a hero because of his heroic efforts no matter how he's condemned by the people.
What a compelling ending. This makes the Dark Knight so successful. The music just matches it perfectly. P.S. If there's gonna be a Robin, which I hope there isn't, at least let this kid be it. I was expecting him to be your typical child actor at first, but I was proven wrong, he's good.
You know what I didn't get? Why the hell Batman and Gordon decided to ''blame'' Harvey's death on Batman! Couldn't they have, I don't know, blamed the Joker instead? I mean, he's a psychopath that kills people for his own amusement, it wouldn't be that hard to believe that he would kill Harvey.
This is y I still think we all love to be superheros with super power, still this is y I would definitely hate being a hero like Batman, because it is just so tough being in his situation bcoz I cannot take it.. this is still y I respect this legend so much.. while I treat the others as cartoon
Resurrected2011 is right,I read in entertainment weekly back in either the Dec 2008-Jan 2009 issue,they were like if Heath would have never died,they were gonna bring him back,when joker was like "We're destined to do this forever"was the hint
The Joker he's the villain Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him because he can take it. Because he isn't after power, or money. He's a Harlequin of Hate.....The Clown Prince of Crime......The man who laughs...
WTF no thats retarded. Bane is physically powerful, it isn't just a rewrite. Its been 8 years since TDK, why would Joker even be in for that long just to come back so late?
heath ledger deserved the role of the joker.The first time i saw him i was blown away.But his gone now :(.Christopher Nolan is one of my favourite director.BTW best batman music ever.GOOD JOB HANS!!!!!
As a Lifelong Batman fan, this ending had me in tears. Christopher Nolan for me was the first writer/director/producer to get the Story of batman RIGHT. For me Nolan took the foundation of Batman and made his own version of it to cater to a real life Gotham with real issues that we can relate to ie (Corruption, fear of what will happen, etc.) and blended it with the comic world of Batman. Really can't wait for July 20th 2012.
@BTLgmoney me either i cant believe it will be the last i cant wait to see it. here is wat i see in TDKR i see its like months after the Events of TDK then Bane comes and ends up breaking Batman's back then 8 years later he comes back to stop Bane for good and ends up getting hurt worst in it and then quits for good and then we see a beginning to BATMAN BEYOND
I remember seeing this and as soon as the 'The Dark Knight' appeared at the end titles I was like "WTF!? I want Batman 3!" and now it's not far away =D
Stellar ending to a flawless movie. Batman's sacrifice here really reminds me of The Boss's sacrifice at the end of Metal Gear Solid 3. Both are outstanding characters, true heroes who willingly sacrificed their reputation for the greater good. True heroes do what's right no matter what; they don't need people's approval, they don't need to be liked.
Can't wait for the third movie. Hopefully it's just as good as the first two. I have a feeling Batman will sacrifice his life in the end.
Batman chose to sacrifice his own reputation in order to protect Harvey's so that people in Gotham will not lose faith. That's what I call a superhero, not someone with superpower but someone who are willing to sacrifice himself for others.
James Gordon Jr.: But he didn't do anything wrong.
Jim Gordon: Because he's the hero Gotham deserves. But not the one it needs right now. And so we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent gaurdian. A watchful protector. A DARK KNIGHT!
@zer0knight Yes he ia you fucking moron, there is a picture of Bane holding Harvey Dent's picture in front of a crowd (or a gathering of people of some sort). And there are pictures and videos of a lot of criminals running in the streets (probably the criminals Harvey locked up). I'm pretty certain is going to use Harvey's scandal to his profit.
How this movie's ending turns out will be affected in the next movie and thus be a part of the story. Bane will use this scandal with Harvey Dent in order to take control of Gotham or release all the criminals back on the streets. God Nolan and his brother are fantastic screenwriters.
@95Wilhelm The dark knight rises takes place 8 years after the events in the dark knight, :P bane isn't gonna use anything to do with the harvey dent scandal -.-
Let me clarify. Batman had to be blamed so that the Joker wouldn't win. The Joker wanted to prove that a good man can fall easier than a bad man. Batman refused to let that happen...so he took the blame. Harvey died for their cause.
I feel truly blessed by God to be born at a time where movies like these have been made with actors who don't portray their characters, but rather play an extension of themselves.
James Gordon Jr.: [Batman runs off into the darkness as James Jr. joins his father by Harvey Dent's body] Batman? Why's he running, Dad?
Lt. James Gordon: [Staring after Batman] Because we have to chase him.
James Gordon Jr.: But he didn't do anything wrong.
Lt. James Gordon: Because he's the hero Gotham deserves. But not the one it needs right now. And so we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent gaurdian. A watchful protector. A dark knight
It's a bit sad that you call this 'bullshit' when it obviously goes way over your head. Take a chill pill and go watch Batman and Robin, that should benefit your level of understanding. By the way, you should get your ears cleaned out, I heard everything they said perfectly.
@RS1Comedy1Vids no it was lost on YOU u insufferable moron. it wasnt intended as direct threat it was a question: do you deserve a slap... or need one? which is it? quickly now
btw ur supposed to know the difference since u claim to know what the fuck theyre talking about
I'm the insufferable moron... while you ask people if they need or deserve online slaps... why am I wasting my time here... Is your 'question' related to this video clip? If so, you truly have misinterpreted this scene. Is it a play on Gordon's words at the end? I feel a facepalm coming along.
@RS1Comedy1Vids ur instinct is correct...nowhere did i offer you, or ask if u deserve online slaps...
do u understand?
INCORRECT mr Dildo!!
LOOL
1st an online slap would be impossible. i dont know why u cant understand that. i merely implied that u deserve (or need? who knows ;)) ...a SLAP. the fact that u think it'll come through the internet somehow, or that i offered it, is entirely a fabrication of your addled mind.
2nd: it was also a QUESTION about whats the difference.
Pwned? Really? Don't get your hopes up too high. Besides, I can't believe you took the whole 'online slaps' thing so seriously, I guess sarcasm doesn't communicate well through the form of text. Also, you didn't 'imply' anything; you asked, probably the dumbest question I have ever come across in YouTube. Let me try and explain this whole "deserve" and "need" thing, before you embarrass yourself further. See my next post.
Because hee is not a hero ... He is a silent guardian .. A watchful protector ... A dark knight

@Tweektweakcoffee yeah Harvey dies. Supposedly Christopher Nolan confirmed it. Sorry to break your heart.
nani5555 3 months ago 26
@nani5555 I've heard the same but my doubt comes from the fact that Batman fell from the same height and survived.

Harvey Dent had to die. That's why Batman tells Gordon to blame him for everything bad that happened...so Harvey remained a hero.
WildGunsTomcat 2 months ago
@Tweektweakcoffee
Let me clarify. Batman had to be blamed so that the Joker wouldn't win. The Joker wanted to prove that a good man can fall easier than a bad man. Batman refused to let that happen...so he took the blame. Harvey died for their cause.

I wonder if Batman's cape ever gets caught in his batpod wheel

Best ending movie lines ever: (no particular order)
1. "Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now!"
2. "To convince me to honor our arrangement? To take a leap of faith, Yes. Come back..."
3. "I never said thank you!... And you'll never have to"
4. "Do you have anything to say?...Abracadabra."

Coincidentally (or not?) those lines are all from Nolan movies. But they are great lines nonetheless.

"what u need what u deserve, what u need", oh what BULLSHIT
actors can't enunciate properly, and the director cant get the soundman to pick up the SOUND
FUCK
preeeeetentious
heath and the old boys (btw caine OR freeman ok?, not both, no room) were good, but these two cunts "brahhhbrahbrahblah..whisperwhisper"

@natmanprime
It's a bit sad that you call this 'bullshit' when it obviously goes way over your head. Take a chill pill and go watch Batman and Robin, that should benefit your level of understanding. By the way, you should get your ears cleaned out, I heard everything they said perfectly.
RS1Comedy1Vids 4 months ago
@RS1Comedy1Vids oh ok. then would u mind telling me whats the difference between u needing a slap and deserving a slap?
natmanprime 4 months ago
@natmanprime
Pfft... try me, mate.
RS1Comedy1Vids 4 months ago
@RS1Comedy1Vids LOL what do u mean 'try you' you idiot how'm i gonna slap u through the internet?
i was asking u a question.
whats the difference?
natmanprime 4 months ago
@natmanprime
Well that was lost on you, should have figured. Well geez, how should I know? Go ahead and attempt to humour me.
RS1Comedy1Vids 4 months ago
@RS1Comedy1Vids no it was lost on YOU u insufferable moron. it wasnt intended as direct threat it was a question: do you deserve a slap... or need one? which is it? quickly now
btw ur supposed to know the difference since u claim to know what the fuck theyre talking about
natmanprime 4 months ago
@natmanprime
I'm the insufferable moron... while you ask people if they need or deserve online slaps... why am I wasting my time here... Is your 'question' related to this video clip? If so, you truly have misinterpreted this scene. Is it a play on Gordon's words at the end? I feel a facepalm coming along.
RS1Comedy1Vids 4 months ago
@RS1Comedy1Vids ur instinct is correct...nowhere did i offer you, or ask if u deserve online slaps...
do u understand?
INCORRECT mr Dildo!!
LOOL
1st an online slap would be impossible. i dont know why u cant understand that. i merely implied that u deserve (or need? who knows ;)) ...a SLAP. the fact that u think it'll come through the internet somehow, or that i offered it, is entirely a fabrication of your addled mind.
2nd: it was also a QUESTION about whats the difference.
WOW
*facepalm*
natmanprime 4 months ago
@natmanprime
Unreal. The only thing more flawed than your questions is your logic.
RS1Comedy1Vids 4 months ago
@RS1Comedy1Vids ...translation: u've just been pwned and ur trying to save face.
lets walk u through it: "me: "do u deserve or need a slap"
you: "DURR.. u ask people if they deserve or need online slaps."
me: "WRONG. i said (well, implied actually) that u DESERVE a slap. not an ONLINE(note carefully) slap. that would be, of course, impossible *smirk*"
now. my question also alluded to the verbally implied difference in the movie between 'needing' and 'deserving'.
what is the difference?
hmmm?
natmanprime 4 months ago
@natmanprime
Pwned?
RS1Comedy1Vids 4 months ago
@RS1Comedy1Vids sarcasm!!!looool
no sorry that doesnt work, i can see ur trying ur best to backtrack
i dont need to HOPE u get pwned, its just happened ur poor thing : )
