Wow! This is awesome bro. All you people who keep commenting on his vocals, c'mon for reals?! He's admitted that his vocals arent the best so get over it. I've honestly heard worse. Have you heard Morrissey LIVE...not the greatest either but good music makes it sound great. I'd like to see the negative folks try playing a song like this and keeping the timing along with all the chord changes and still singing it. Dude you're talented! Great videos! Keep up the good work.
@LukeRoby1994 like in Gladiator - "Are you not amused?" Definitely reached my limits of coordination with this one, at one point I'm just mailing the vocals in while tryin to nail the parts.
That was bloody brilliant...I am an old time Marr/Morrissey fan...and I wish I could pick up what you just played...I agree with the last comment...slow it down for us...break it up...and maybe some of us could get it. Cheers
Dude, I need to learn this song the way you play it. I think I could do it, if you where near by I would ask you for a paid lesson.
Anyhow, if you have time, can you maybe redo it with your guitar more centered on the cam and break up the different parts and play them slowly. If so great I promise I will try and entertain others well with it when the opportunity arises. If not, thanks for posting this video and maybe I'll pick up some stuff from it.
@KasinSF I'm horrible with teaching - honestly I need to teach myself some bits again! But other than the stock "cowboy chords" the parts that slide up the neck are either in a D major shape or an open A major shape - I slide up and down trying to hit those melodic lines using those movable chords.
awsome guitar work man, tough to get johnny marr's riffs... and well noone can sing like morrissey so don't worry about people dissing your voice... keep playing... ur really good
I love the perfect changes in feeling and touch at 1mn30.
How do you strum? do you use only thumb or thumb at index at same time or both sometimes with index sometimes with thumb? and do you have nails or not?
All the above but i keep the nails short, and actually use the back of my index finger and thumb in the middle of the nail to strum, in a shape as if i was holding a pick, for the strongest strum. Took a while to never hit the cuticles when doing this but it's worth it now that i have the distance down.
Jesus how do you make that look so easy?! I know it's a simple G, C, D, song but the fingerpicking just sounds so intricate when johnny marr does it and it's a complete fail when I try lol!
that was really well done, im surprised you could sing it while you played it because it looks rather difficult. i really liked the fact that you played the lead and rhythm guitar. the whole ending bit was spectacular (especially the nature is a language part).
Also, is that G Am C D?
Also, again, what kind of guitar is that, i really liked the sound of it. My acoustic is a piece.
Thanks, it is G Am C D with an Em interlude in the middle. And it does have a mishmosh of lead and rhythm parts as they slipped out wherever they wished while I was just trying to keep up on vocals.
The guitar is a Guild Bluegrass F47 and is a "minijumbo" mahoghany that feels and sounds comfortable, I work out most songs on it first.
Dude, that was a sick cover. I loved your interpretation at the end!

That's a beautiful rendition and a beautiful guitar you're playing on.
I eventually want a Guild F47RC, the kind with the cutaway and the pickup.

If Morrissey was dead he would have just rolled over in his grave

crisp, inventive, restrained, tuneful. really loved it.

I have a problem with the 'restrained' part, I prefer to hear the voice in a Smiths song.
Wickid acoustic cover, though.
