Um, by reminding everybody what "community" they're actually bettering, a student body that is mostly rich and white and from other states(as opposed to the COMMUNITY built by people who made their lives and homes here), establishing expensive businesses and pricing out the people that live there who haven't been kicked out "for the greater good" already. They created the "blight" by forcing people to leave with few other options. also imp. to note that the jobs being created are only temporary
You might want to do some research before post incorrect information on the internet. 52% of the current freshman class identify themselves as a person of color and 53% are receiving financial aid (ie. not rich).
People think this guy is a "scum bag" but I differ.
He (and Columbia University) are bettering the community by increasing jobs, reducing crime, blight, and drugs.
How do you argue against that?
