im 11 and scared because my cousin is in the marines and currently at afghanistan and it scares me because he got shot at, my other cousin is also in the marines and is in okwinawa and my bro is in the marines, in DC, im just glad my uncle's here he says they'll be ok and they have great training, he knows becausehe was in the military.
My husband served in Iraq with the Marines and I remember waiting for letters, emails, anything just to know he was okay. Came home wounded and with a silver star for saving some of his injured comrades. The day he came home he proposed. That was 3 months ago today. I'm proud to be a Military wife and fully support the other wives and girlfriends that go through the separation :) Semper Fi

They played this every Sunday morning when I was in Air Force Basic Training. We all thought we were hard and never cried. Of the 58 guys in my flight there wasnt a dry eye when this came on. I will never forget standing there in full dress blues graduation weekend with my family there and the entire church singing this song.

i just got back from basic for the army. this is the song that kept us going. the letters were what meant everything. i never would have made it through ft bennings infantry training without this song and letters. i worked my ass off to earn my blue cord and all i asked for was 1 letter a week.
As a military member who has deployed I can honestly say getting letters from loved ones means the world to us. Even if we can skype or call on the phone send letters, we love it.

I might not be in the military but I am an active firefighter. I remember the day I left my small town to go to New York. Hardest thing ever leaving my home. I was gone for three weeks. The hardest part was getting letters from my little girl. I was sent there and reconnected with my brother I hadn't seen in 6 years. When something went wrong during clean up my brother was killed. It was hard to watch his body be pulled from the debris.

I am 17 and i am off to boot camp in febuary.... I requested that i'd be sent to afgan.
my recruiter said he doesnt think its smart to do. told me stories and has me scared shitless..

My boyfriend is in the Army, he comes home in March. I'm only a high school senior and he is 23. I am an Army brat. I sent him this song and he started crying. He is in Afghanistan right now. I get emails all the time and I am just glad that he is okay. My boyfriend is helping fight for our freedom. I miss him and I love him! Ryan, come home safe!

.. I had to call it off with my boyfriend because he is now in the army. Leaving july 2nd and comes back december from basic. Than he will leave for 14 monthes over to the mid east. He said we can give it another try when he comes back.. I am going to wait for that wonderful guy <3

My brother (who is also my bestfriend) is in the army . Whenever he got shipped away for bootcamp , i BAWLED my eyes out. One day , I came home and got a letter from him. I smiled so big. I missed my brother so much. I carry it around everyday and its been over a year now. I'm so proud of my brother :) I can't wait to go into the military myself. THANK YOU ALL ARMED FORCES. I'm proud of ALL of you guys :) You're trully the heros in my life♥

My mom is a veteran, and so is my uncle. And my brother... he went to Afganistan and never came back. I never got to write him a letter, I miss him so much. This song brings tears to my eyes each time I play it.

It takes a special person to be in the service. I have two kids of my own, and if either of them decide to enlist when they grow up I would be immensly saddened and scared, but extremely proud.

I might not be in the military but I am an active firefighter. I remember the day I left my small town to go to New York. Hardest thing ever leaving my home. I was gone for three weeks. The hardest part was getting letters from my little girl. I was sent there and reconnected with my brother I hadn't seen in 6 years. When something went wrong during clean up my brother was killed. It was hard to watch his body be pulled from the debris.

@32USMCwife I enlisting into the army Nov. 07 2012 and I am telling you this cause I have seen that you care and I don't think my family does cause they think I dont need the military career and that I am wasting my talent but I think I should server my country and that this is what I am supposed to do in life and that I was meant for this and I think you of all people would know with your husband on his 3rd deployment and all so thanks for understanding. And I hope he comes home safely.
