SEQUEL DEFINITELY! ONe of my Favorite Alien movies! well it is my favorite alien movie! IF they make a sequel! PLS let us see more EQUIPMENTS, THE WORLD OF THE ALIENS, AND THEIR TECHNOLOGY...and they return to rescue the remains including the Main guy, and it would be nice if they have more guns available and robots that would shine so much...District 9 is great! but i feel something is missing..esp at the end...and the sequel is a definite! pls! continue!

I JUST NOW saw District 9.

It is the best Sci-Fi movie I've seen in years, and one of the best movies I've seen ever.

A sequel would be a very very bad idea :(

Unless Blomkamp has a huge amount if great ideas that can continue this brilliant story.

The only problem with a sequel to D9 is that Sharlto Copley won't be playing Wikus as Wikus for a lot of the film since Wikus is currently a prawn. It would probably be Jason playing the prawn form of Wikus. D9 was an amazing film and is my all-time favorite film after having just watched it recently, but what really made it so was Sharlto's acting as Wikus and the incredible character depth and emotion he portrayed. A D9 sequel wouldn't have as much of the "Wikus charm" as in D9.

the prawns in the district are grunts, or drones. there could be higher ranks of prawns wherever they came from. christopher promises he'll be back in 3 years. maybe he'll bring some higher ranked prawns?

In the beginning thats what I was thinking also. Since these aliens were able to make such scientific discoveries and weapons/ships/what not, how was it possible that they were living in that area like animals and not thinking and creating things that they were implied to be able to do. I thought that maybe the aliens just dumped a bunch of "idiots" into a spaceship and sent them out on purpose. Of course Christopher is the only exception to this theory since he is very intelligent.

I think thats what Christopher meant by going back and bringing "backup" or whatever. Its still shocking though what the humans did...It gave me a different perspective on the media and what the government might be hiding from us.

exactly. during the beginning of the film, you are almost defaultly on the same side as the humans, but quickly realize what is actually going on, switching the viewers favor to the prawns.

I think this movie needs to be a stand-alone. I can't see them making such a stunning sequal. Not saying it's impossible, just unlikely in my eyes. Also, a bad sequal detracts from the origianal.
