  • My hats off to the builder that is one bad "My Bad" I like it all the custom foot break is way to cool. To all of you that hate, I say lets see you post all the cool projects that you build so that we can tear you down. HATERS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!

  • @gripchion - Couldn't agree more! They need to have a special website for those people that just want to start sh__! And thanks for the comments. It was a blast to build and it's a blast to show! Cheers...

  • "gas tank for added chopper realism" ..

And "I don't like anything on the handlebars"

I mean this is a bit pointless, but who asked me..

Anyway, things should be built for function not for looks only, this is probably not driveable, and the brake is something that has a potential fail point - what if you need to react quickly and the pedal is just in the way..

You're a grown man, I see how a kid would be fascinated, what the phuck.. I'll try and understand people better next time..

  • @robobear510 - Why take the time to type all that out just to bitch about something that is built for fun. I get so sick of people who come on here just to rant pointless rants. I built something for fun, something to make people smile and just for something to do. IT"S A BICYCLE CHOPPER, not a dam Harley. Have a little fun in life and get over yourself. Oh, and thanks for the comments!

  • @essexisbest well.. sorry people tend to comment stuff on youtube the way they see things.. I understand buidling stuff for fun.. well.. yeah, ok sorry, that's a good enough explanation.. I would suggest one thing, put up an electric motor on it and make it e-bike chopper, I built and e-bike from a kit, so I understand the building for fun thing, and your skills are actually impressive if you built the whole thing, but I think you only need to make it functional and have a higher functionality

  • @robobear510 - Thanks for commenting back again. And I hear what you're saying. Funny part is when I built this (and yes, I built the whole thing) I didn't know for sure if it would even work. Nobody else that I knew of was doing the wide tires at the time. So it was sort of meant for show rather than go (it`s been in 2 major car shows). It is actually quite rideable though. I will try something with a motor at some point. This one was just meant to have pedals though.

    Cheers!

  • @essexisbest se how we handled this, like gentleman, internet is starting to change, see how the word thanks affected the communication in a positive upbeat

  • @robobear510 - Wish I could be as optimistic as you. You wouldn't believe how many comments I have deleted just because somebody is trying to start something. I wish they could all end this way!

  • @essexisbest mindless zombies trying to eat through your brain - well, as always support you followers, and ignore haters, who, as always, will be hating, peace man

  • Nice chopper bike I have a lowrider bike I did check out my video, then I wanna do a beach cruiser and ofcourse do a chopper bike also great video

  • @oklacityg - I might have to try building a beach cruiser of some type. I think that would be a hoot. I decided to buy one as I just wanted something for everyday riding. Good luck on your build(s)! And thanks for the comments!

  • uh i forgot to put in respect in the last comment, its a great piece of work and my comment is my own personal preference

  • @BongoOldChap Thanks for the comment and the clarification. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and mine is that the tank finishes it off. I don't like having just a bare bar there so I thought the tank filled it in nicely. Again though, thanks for the comment!

  • the tank isnt good, its like its pretending to be something its definitely not, ditch it and let the bike celebrate its uniqueness and bicycle origins

  • Awsome chopper. Im trying to build a Trike chopper got a question where did you get your extended forks did you make it your self if yes can you tell me how? Thanks

  • Nice job!

  • @Chicagojoe28 - Thanks! Videos coming up soon for the next project.....

  • when i first saw the gas tank i thought it going to be like a storage compartment... love your bike though...

  • @gurroladvd11 - I had actually thought about making it some sort of storage thing but it ended up just for show. Thanks!!

  • i would die for one of them!

  • @skstepunk12727 - I almost did. Once I added up all the bills from biuilding it and realized what I had spent, I almost did myself in! :) Thanks for the comments!

  • Did you build the tank or buy it somewhere? Is it real or fake? If you bought it where did you buy it? Price?

  • @FullBlownMinis - I think I got that one off of Ebay if I remember right. And yes, it's a real tank but that's a few years ago now so I am not sure what I paid for it. Would have been under a hundred for sure.

  • how long are those bars?

  • @illKillYouRAWR - Handle bars? They are about 20". Front forks are about 3 1/2' long.

  • Hey, if your gonna have a gas tank you have to put an engine on that thing.

That bike would honk with a 5 H.P. Briggs. Just do it!

  • @DanOblacksmith - Maybe on the next project....

  • I saw your bike on Atomic Zombie.

  • @58tag - Cool site and cool bikes that they build. I would love to build one of their choppers with the car rear tire. Nasty looking bike!

  • I had actually considered that. Maybe I'll incorporate it into the one I am working on now!

  • Could you change the imitation tank to a imitation tank/drink bottle ? somewhere to hide the gin and juice . Obviously you would need to leave on the fuel tap turn pour spout :D it'd be sweet ... old piston somewhere for the cup ... just thinking out loud :)

  • Must be a bitch to pedal. I hope you live on a flat ground.

  • @OriginalJami - I thought it would be that way as well and ended up gearing it too low so it is actually too easy to pedal now. I could add an idler or jack shft but I would have to mess up the powder coat so I guess it stays the way it is for now.

    Thanks for the comments!

  • u should put a fake bike engine in there it would so cool

  • @25patpat - Cool idea....never thought of that!

    Thanks for the comment!

  • i like how you did the extended bottom bracket, on my dads and mine, (were making a home made chopper bike) we just used a jack shaft and switched it to the other side, but thats pretty cool, also how you did the foot break, were just planing not to have breaks, just use our feet, im also customizing, a west coast chopper bicycle, but yours is really cool, LOVE it..!!.!.!.!

  • @mangakingrsm51 - I like the jack shaft idea. I was thinking of trying to build one with an actual car rear tire and I think I would have to use a jack shaft for that. Good luck with your build. Put up a video when you are done and then send me the link! Thanks for the comments!

  • Is it easy to go fast on that thing? How much does it weigh? You could fill the fuel tank up with sports drink and use a straw ha ha. The other thing I wonder about is reaching the handlebars.

  • @TimpBizkit - It scoots along pretty good. Don't know the exact weight, can carry it but you wouldn't want to carry it too far! As for the length, it is definitely built for a tall person to ride. It's a very long reach to the bars.

    Thanks for the questions!

    Cheers

  • I would put hub moter and batterys in the gas tank make look like not powered.

  • Nice bike.

But why not add a 49cc motor very cheap i'd be tired in 5 min.

What do you sell for i would love to put a 4 cycle motor on.

  • @ronsam3825 It's just a pedal bike because that is what I like builidng. I can ride them up and down the street without fear of a low speed pursuit by local law enforcement. :) And as for the selling part, this 'Bad' boy is not for sale.

    Thanks for the comments!

    Cheers

  • @essexisbest

In Ontario Canada we are allowed to ride on the street as long as it does not exceed 40 or kms.

If your not allowed to ride mopeds on the street then i understand.

No disrespect intended it is a nice bike.

    Cheers

  • @ronsam3825 - None taken and sorry for the response if it sounded short! I have just been riddled with comments about putting a motor on it so I sometimes get a bit short with the responses. Cool that you guys can ride the motorized ones. I may have to check that out but as far as I know we can't here in Sask.

    Cheers!

  • this would be awsome with an engine...and larger sized!

  • Maybe futuristic can be the next one. This one looks exactly the way it was supposed to. Thanks for the comments!

  • that foot brake idea is pretty good however redesign the bike make it looke more futuristic if u must

  • it's fugly

  • @2009samr - Fugly....lol. I haven't heard that word for years! Too funny. Thanks!

  • @essexisbest lol its soo cool how you take it as a joke. Keep building man!!!

  • I'm very impressed by this bike, A beautiful machine and fantastic craftsmanship. Very good, very well done. Truly a bike that will inspire others, This is a fantastic machine.

  • @MyJimjack - Thanks very much. I really appreciate it! Comments like that make all the work worthwhile!

    Cheers

  • lol thats crap the frame is to small!

  • @gavinr9speed - I can tell by your command of the English language that you are probably a master bike builder so I appreciate your constructive criticism. I am also impressed that you can tell that the frame is too small by watching a small video. Good job buddy!

  • @essexisbest Now all it needs is a motor.

  • how much does that weigh? looks really heavy

  • @AviTheBlader - it's probably a bit heavier than your average store bought chopper but not as bad as it looks. The big back wheel makes it look heavier than it is.

  • where can i get the rear axle

  • @kelly497 - I had to find a guy to custom build it for me. I took a chance and emailed a mini-motorcycle seller on Ebay and bounced the idea off him and he said he would try to build it for me. As far as I know, the one he built for me was his first and last. He went out of the business a while ago. One of the other ones might take a stab at it for you though, Good luck!

  • wheres the motor

  • @sz42781 - the original idea was to put a motor in but I liked it better the way it turned out. Maybe on the next one.

  • @sz42781 Good job, it looks great but you need to put a bigger sprocket on the back and a snowblower engine

  • you should make a motor powered version

  • @BMAN294 - thinking about it.....

  • that is rocking did I want to do somethign like that so bad but I want to build an electric powered one again thats cool.

  • Nice bicycles you got there ,,, I have some questions, I live over seas and I wanna get the designs for bicycles like this from where can I get them? and where can I get the back wheel & tire?

  • @asdvip - You might be able to find some design thing on the internet by now but the plans to mine are in my head so that won't help you unfortunately. If you look at it though, the design is actually pretty straight forward. As for the wheel, you can find the set on Ebay if you search under mini chopper. You need to find someone that can build you a free-wheeling rear axle though (unless you're building a motorized one). Good luck!!

  • @essexisbest - thank a lot man you are a big inspiration to me. One more question if you don't mind, about the break system you got. what kind of break system you used? and how did you installed it? I'm sorry if I ask too much but I'm amazed by you and your bicycles I kept looking at the video over over

  • @asdvip - No worries about the questions...I love answering them! The foot brake is actually just a regular bicycle brake handle. I cut off a handlebar tip and welded it onto the bottom bracket to mount it on. The pedal on it is a mounting pad for a set of car fog lights. I screwed it onto the brake handle and mounted it up. The disc brake was an option with the rear end. It's all about imagination my friend! :)

  • Wicked build, you sir have some skills.

  • @Camelrooster Thanks!! Getting the itch to build again so hopefully something new will come along soon....

  • @essexisbest I eagerly await your new offering!

  • If it was me id make that gas tank on a couple hinges so the top would open, and you could store stuff in it..Beer perhaps, tools, small shopping items. whatever.

  • @Brainiac83 - Cool idea! I may have to work something like that into the next one.

  • @essexisbest Forget that, Put a small gas engine in it an a functional fuel tank would be WAYY more awsome. Other than that, It looks really awsome man. great job.

  • @deerhuntingboy101 - Nice!

  • i'd like to build my own chopper too, could you please share your blueprints?

  • @joelstve - I wish I had actual blueprints but they are in my head....sorry!

  • balls in your chopper it will make it manly

  • nice custom bicycle, well done !!

  • @thecruisersgent - Thanks...appreciate it!

    Cheers

  • put a motor on it

  • @TheWezid - Maybe on the next one....

  • great video and great bike chopper...I'd love to build something like that here in Hawaii and maybe open a shop and just build chopper bikes for the kids. Nothing like that here and I know the business would do really well. Any information you think I could use to get started would be greatly appreciated. I am a retired Viet Nam vet with alot of time on my hands and need a new project.

  • @tunglashr4u - thanks for the comments. A retired vet...wow! You should be able to build similar ones with some conduit tubing and a hand bender. The trouble you will have is finding a rear axle to work with if you are wanting to use the wide tire. This one is custom made as it has to free-wheel. You may have to try and find a machinist to help you. Good luck!

  • put a honda 150r motor in it :D

  • @xxmegsaxx - I just might have to try that one of these days!

  • i like your rear foot break very inventive

  • @intupspaturken - Thanks. I like coming up with different ideas...like the shifter brake on Ratical!

    Cheers

  • is it hard to pedal with such a big back tire?

  • @madfella993 - I thought that was going to be the case but it actually turned out to be too easy to pedal. I may have to rework the gearing and change it up a bit.

  • haha i would drop a mean motor in that bitch in a heart beat

  • this is really cool. do you build real choppers too?

  • @Powerhungry5000 - Thanks! A buddy of mine and I are just in the planning stages to build one. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

  • @essexisbest I'm actually trying to start one myself. what kind of bike are you using to start?

  • @Powerhungry5000 - He has fabricating equipment so we are actually going to build it from scratch. I would like to use an old springer front end (or build one) but we'll have to see what we come up with. Probably just do a rigid for the first try as it will be easier to build. How are you doing yours? Cutting up an existing one and changing it?

  • @essexisbest well I'm only 17 and this will be my fist bike, so I was going to get a harley sporster and give it a little rake and some various modifications. I hope you post videos of yours!

  • @Powerhungry5000 - Wow, very ambitious for your first one! I wouldn't have had that kind of courage at that age....good for you!! You post some videos too please as you go.

    Cheers

  • i wanna buy one but my parents dont allow me :s my dad says that it's not comfortable to drive, is this true?

  • @besteboetje - You won't actually find one like this in a store anywhere as it is a one of a kind. Most of the choppers that are in stores though are designed by bike manufaturers though so they are meant to ride. They are not as comfortable as some other bikes but they are ok. If I were you I would look at one of those to start with or if your Dad likes working on stuff, ask him to help you build one. It's fun to do!! Good luck!

  • @essexisbest - thx for the tip, i really appreciate it. thx again.

  • you have style

  • @DadxPower - Thanks...appreciate that!

  • nicee xd

  • relly nice bike , butt i would go with longer handel bars for mor felling

  • congrats on a beautiful job!

  • @shoobedoorocketship - Thanks....very much appreicated!!

    Cheers

  • i liked the bike. do you wanna sell?

  • @cazawi2009 - Not sure if I want to part with it or not. Thanks.

  • hello. i liked the bike. do you wanna sell it me?

  • Thanks for the advice mate, keep up the great work:-)

  • Good luck and drop me a line when you are into your project....I'd love to see it!

  • Bloody great job mate!!! Have you got the plans to make this??

  • Only in my head my friend.....only in my head! Thanks for the comments. And actually if you take a look at the frame as I pan around it, it's pretty straight forward. You just draw the basic design out and then size it to your own needs.

  • you can buy 80 cc eninges for bikes on e-bay and stuff. yopu might have to edit the tank though.

  • I have no plans to put an engine on it but thanks for the tip!

  • U need extra gear in the middle that chain looks like it would fall off really ez

  • Heavy duty chain and gears....trust me, that chain ain't going nowhere! Thanks for the comment though.

  • I think if you made an unfinished chopper kit with all the welding and fabrication done, you could sell it on ebay. Im sure you could sell a finished chopper as well. But an unfinished kit would take less time and allow people to save some money

Lots of people have made millions by starting out small in there own garage building things like this.

  • That would be a great idea if I had the equipment to do it. I just work out of my garage with basic tools so unfortunately it's waayyy too labor intensive, so I just do this for a hobby. Thanks for the comments though!

  • i bet all the ladies follow you with that bike

  • lol...yeah, it does get alot of attention....

  • u should put an engine on it

  • I might try building another one with an engine...just to see how it goes!

  • That's Great Lovin It!

  • Cool....thanks!!!

  • Damn man, I really want to build one but I just don't know where to start, the rear wheel is badass too, never thought of having one that wide! But it looks immense, you should make an instructional DVD :)

  • You can really start anywhere you like. I think on this one I actually started with the rear end and then went forward. I am going to do a sort of build-guide video when I start another project. A friend of mine has a pretty wild idea for a build so we might start that....keep watching! And thanks for the comments!

  • where did you get the tank?

  • Good old Ebay. Just waited for the right size and shape of tank to come along (took a while but I found one).

  • thats a really cool bike and that break you made, thats so smart!!!

  • Thanks! I love coming up with the brake ideas. Check out my other video for the Ratical build and look at the brake on that one....I like it too!

    Thanks for the comments...

  • do you mind describing how you made the wide bottom bracket? thanks.

  • There's a couple ways: for My Bad I actually started with a new piece of pipe and cut it to the length I needed. The bearing cups were pressure fit so it worked well. For Ratical, I wanted to use the screw in bearing cups so I just took the original bottom bracket, cut it in half, added in a new piece of similar size pipe and welded it up. Both ways worked well.

    Thanks for the question!

  • shit nice brakes man

  • That took alot of thought but turned out pretty good. Thanks for the comment!

  • fuckin awesome u should make one with a engine

  • Thanks....and I am thinking about the engine thing!

  • @sn16117 As long as its not though's cheap ass online engine bike kits.

    Then I agree he should.

  • Wow what a cracker, I would love one of these, never saw one so cool :)

  • Thanks!! It was as fun to build as it is to ride!

  • wow it's really cool!

  • Glad you like it....thanks!

  • muitoo legal vo manda faze uma pra mim

  • Desculpe eu não falar sua língua

  • It is OK to speak English and translate it sorry for the delay answering you I'm not long for the answer

  • you know if you sell it the first thing thats gonna happen is some metal fab dad is gonna throw an old chainsaw motor on it and theyre just gonna have a motorcycle anyway

  • It actually wouldn't be that hard to do. I am just not sure how the rear axle would handle it. Could be cool though.....

  • well chainsaws are only about 35 ccs so its not too much stronger than a fit cyclists legs it just is gonna have more torque because of how youd have to set up the gear ratio to slow it down because those little things get up to like 7000 rpm

  • That would probably work pretty good then. Maybe have to try one for my next project!

  • i think the ratio for the gears are 1:12 so for every 12 turns the chainsaw motor does the back should only do one thats to go like 30mph or w/e im sure that the type of chainsaw has a lot to do with it too

  • Isn't it crazy that you can get that kind of power/speed out of a chainsaw motor....those little motors are amazing!

  • Whats the ride like? It must be pretty hard to drive... although its a really nice bike you have there

  • The only tricky part is that you have to be fairly tall to ride it and you can't lean too far in corners....pedals will drag. Other than that, it's pretty good to ride.

    Thanks!!

  • Nice bike. Looks like it took a lot of time. I love it all except the brake. Doesn't seem practical. I would have went with a coaster brake (where you pedal backwards to stop). That would have made it look even cleaner (no cables at all).

  • I can appreciate the thought behind the coaster brake idea but I had a hard enough time just finding someone to build a free-wheeling hub! I think if I added in that I wanted a coaster brake too, he might have run screaming into the night! lol Thanks for the comments though!

  • Thats a nice Chopper but i lives in germany and i will have it ;D

  • Probably way better weather where you are right now anyway! lol

  • Do you Sale it?

  • I would consider selling it for around $700.00.

  • that is so sick how much did it cost you and where did you get all the parts i am definetely going to build one and how long did it take

  • Thanks! I think you can still get the mini chopper frames off the internet (I used one of those and chopped it up) but the rear axle might be a problem. I got a guy in Toronto to custom build the axle for me and he has since quit his business. You could maybe ask the guys that sell the mini-motorcyle axles if they can custom make a free-wheeling axle for you.....good luck in your build!

  • Nice Bike, good luck in the show

  • The show was great and the reception to the bikes was way better than I thought it would be....maybe there's hope for us bicycle chopper guys yet!!

  • bahaha added for chopper realism..

  • Dam...the bahaha wasn't supposed to show! Now I'll have to start over again...thanks for letting me know!

  • Wonderful bike! I want one.

  • Thanks! It's the only one of it's kind and I have pretty much decided not to part with it (at least not for a while).

  • le insertaras un motor supongo... uno de 2 tiempos quedaria impecable.

  • arrepentido yo no hablo español

  • sir, what is size of the rear wheel? im planning build one, im from phil. never see that one here.

  • And you probably won't see one as I built this one from scratch. I don't know what kind of luck you'll have because I had to find someone to build the back axle special for me. It's a version of a mini-motorcycle rear axle but it was built to freewheel like a bicycle axle. It's a one of a kind. The tire itself is a 205/50/10 from a mini motorcycle chopper.

    Good luck with your build!!

  • wow! beautiful!! is the pedal is heavy sir?

  • Thanks. Actually it's the other way around....it is too easy to pedal. I need to change the gear ratio on it one day.

  • nice!

  • Thanks!

  • How much did it take to make it? or get it custom made?

  • I built it myself and got into it for a little over $1000.00. The back wheel and axle were the expensive parts. The rest wasn't too bad.

  • This is sick man.

    It looks mad.

You should try putting a motor on it.

  • I was going to build it originally with a motor on it but I wasn't sure if the back axle could handle it, so it became just a bicycle. I've started the next build so hopefully it will be on here soon...an old school bobber! Thanks for the comments!
