I'm a Mets fan but I love this music. It is quite epic, having seen it a bunch of times during the weekend's Mets-Rangers series. Somehow, even though the Rangers hit like 7 homers in the series the Mets took 2/3.

My favorite homer to this tune? Nelson Cruz making it 5-1 in Game 6 last year against the Yankees. The way Colby Lewis was pitching, you knew it was done when he hit that thing. This music played, fireworks illuminated the stadium in red... it was majestic. Fuck the yanks!

It's from the 1984 movie "The Natural" which Robert Redford starred as a ball player called "Roy Hobbs", who was a fictional slugger with pheonominal power and ability.

This music played in the movie each time "Roy Hobbs" would belt a monster homer :)

I am actually a big Mets fan. A friend of mine moved to Dallas and I went to visit him and went to a Rangers game and they hit 6 homeruns that night (I think it was a 16-8 win vs the Astros on a Friday night, in May 2008). They played this song for Mike Piazza when he was still a met and broke the record for most homeruns as a catcher. Got me all chocked up.

My dad would take us to two or three Astros games a year. I moved to Michigan four years ago. So this year I went to 31 Tigers games, 4 Ranger Games, 1 Astros game. 1 Toledo Mudhen games. Sweet.
