Why, why couldnt they give Adel such a bigger role in the story, yeah we hear about what she did back when Laguna was in the Galbadian army 17 years ago but i would have liked to see her have a bigger role or at least make a prequel to FFVIII where we play as Laguna and expand on the story 17 years ago that way we see more of Adel

ok, I understand that Adel uses non-elemental attacks and I went easy on her because I was overly confident but I lost (tee-hee). also, on the second battle of Adel, I went all out against her and destroyed her, yet; I enjoyed it and repeated replay against her. more over, I have beaten the game by putting that option; when the mobs can attack you while setting up command for your ally's.
I would love for someone to do a No-Renzokuken challenge, where that Limit Break is only used if it has to be, or if it is needed. Maybe a minor junction challenge too. That would be kinda kick-ass eh?
wait people get stuck on this fight??? I rmb many years back, that i defeated adel with just 2 -3 limits and 1 regen on Rinoa. Irvine's AP ammo limit break did 7000+ dmg per shot, and that's x2, followed by squall's
this fight pissed me the fuck off. every time I'd try to spam a limit break, even missing commands deliberately to avoid a final attack, squall's dumbass would use blasting zone. the last time i used it it killed adel and rinoa, but I got credit for the win anyways.
I'm stuck at this part, and it's pissed me off so bad that I haven't played for a month, I want to beat this game, but Adel is holding me back, and it pisses me off, can't leave to buy stuff, and every monster I fight only give me 1 exp each, so I can't really level up and become better, and it just really pisses me off. Unfortunately, leveling up would not help you, the enemies' power increases faster than yours. If you have an earlier save, I'd recommend a few steps back and getting A the best weapons (unless you have them) and B finding some better magic to junction. If you have relied on guardian forces for much of your damage thus far, this fight can be insanely difficult. Irvine can hurt her a lot with his limit break if you have enough str and not risk Rinoa. Quistis' support limits help.
@michaelgrella if you're anywhere near the damage that this guy is putting out in his vid, you're in trouble. I was putting out around 4k-5k with squall and a trigger attack. check your ifrit gf, and see if he's learned any of the strength bonus abilities. if he hasn't, grind it out and make sure that he learns them, including the str+level ability, which could be useful later on. after that, make sure you've drawn the optimal magic from monsters to maximize your strength on your characters.
@michaelgrella furthermore, make sure that your hp is on the high side. there's alot of hp bonus abilities that can be learned from the gf's. Titan learns some of these, IIRC. Also, when you start putting out serious damage, go easy on the limit breaks. A blasting zone could easily do 9999 damage and kill rinoa, which is what happened to me several times. There's an item that hopefully you haven't used yet that can help you out, I believe it's called the hero stone, and it makes you invincible.
you know, it always bothered me that Adel was a major plot point, but she has like one line in the whole game. if they ever remake FF8, they need to fix that. and make Edea and Seifer permanent party members. and maybe give you "Enc-None" earlier, since the most efficient way to play is to ignore random encounters and just play Triple Triad. also, integrate Chocobo World so we can use the non-junctionable GFs.

I remember it took me like forever to beat Adel. I had Squall, Selphie, & Zell. To maintain Rinoa, I used Squall "Full Life" or "Recovery" I forgot what I junction to Squall. But when I saw Adel's head spinning around I was like "Finally", but her Meteor attack was quite powerful, especially if you had a GF exposed when the attack took place.
if u do a lot of damage to a single target (... so dont use G.Fs) another nice way to beat adell is casting Zombie on rinoa... everytime adell wants to steal life from rinoa she damages herself xD xD ... its possible but u have to do a rly high amount of damage to her in a short time so.. its not necessary, but fun to see lol ^^
so those extra save points that appear near the end are just an indicator that you definately save, right? kinda like near the end of Silent Hill 2 where there are nine savepoints right befor the las two bosses.

Well at this point, I've junctioned my magic as good as possible but I still can't seem to beat Adel. I have Quistis and Zell in my team so I guess I could use Quistis "Laser thing" as limit break, but what else? I can't leave the castle to get my shit together so I'm kinda trapped. Is there any possibility for me to beat this boss?
ya if your a beginner and u just cruised through the game your first time playing it you will find adel unbeatable which is what happened to me the first time i played, u might get lucky beating adel keep trying for about a week if not id just suggest restarting the game, look at all your options though, look at all your magic, all your GFs and all of their abilities, also see if u can get some nice items from your cards or usefull magic from items using your abilities learned from your GFs
is there a point to even play as rinoa considering the amount of things that happen to her and i found adel so HARD, the only way i beat her was when i did quistis' lazer thing (i forgot its name) and it did 9999 damage to adel which is how i killed, without that i dont think i would have completed it

this boss was a breeze for me but the funnest boss had to be the omega weapon which I beat on the first try, granted it took almost an hour to beat him but I did it. The second time i wasn't so lucky
this fight was well easy,just cast curaga on rhiona,then have a high leveled charchter use the cactuar ability kamakaze,adel died with 1 hit of kamikaze,kamikaze can also kill lots of tough enimies with 1 hit,like enimies on island of hell/heaven.
This fights really easy if you let Squall get to the point where he can use Ronzeknu or w/e his Limit break is. After a few turns of doing that for me Adel was dead, no problem... I wasn't even level 40 when I did it.

Well, you don't actually want to level up your characters much, as the enemies level up as well - Junctioning is the best way to increase strength. Yet the Str/Mag/HP/Vit/Spr Up abilities you can equip do increase each of those stats each time you level up, so equipping those abilities is better if you want to level up.
anyway, my brother and my cousin found out the secret. And its so simple. Just get anybody on your team and equip them with Doomtrain i beleive. Then learn Kamikaze, and viola, you beat him instanteanously.
This is what i remember and I think you still have to whack him a couple of times but its worth it. Though the character that you sacrificed for Kamikaze is dead, and wont get any xp, its worth the countless hours of frustration.
one of the hardest bosses ever for me! i had 2 start the game from scratch because i didnt have the battle points and i couldnt go back because i never had any other save points :P worth it though :D
To be perfectly honest, I think you wasted far too much time trying to protect your party. Too much emphasis in this game has been put on the spell Aura for this game. Sure Aura is alright but the way I played it was to have Squall as a magic support and Quistis as the main attacker. Quistis is capable of doing much more than Squall is at this point in the game and it just annoys me how Aura is used so much. I did it in five mins without Aura or protect or any of that crap.
Wow when I was 4 years old in 1999 my brothers were 9,and 13 and they both kept dying from adel because they didnt know shit about what to do but now when i play it i am 12 right now and i pwned Adel so dam easily i was like OMG i am going to die!But then i pwned the shit out of Adel he was like ALRIGHT I SURRENDER!!!
Best ending ever for a boss fight. Lionheart is awesome. And good job being at level 100. I always play it that way (leveling up a lot). Only pussies waste their time to not level up just to make it easier. It's funnier when it's more challenging.

i guess you should find out about that thing called "junction","card mod" and many refining magic that GF's can teach you,because i kicked adel's butt fast,much like any other boss in this game...and im definitley not among not a very good FF player...so get a Walkthrough or something.
err..not a very good ff player...and you should know that your enemies level up with you,so in this game its smarter to avoid leveling up at the first discs..but start leveling up at disc 3 or 4[because of omega weapon.]

Adel is either a man or a sorceress on steroids. I have never seen a magic-wielding girl so buff that she ends up standing three times higher than the rest of the guys in the game.
She doesn't even have breasts. Adel is either pumping juice or she's really a man and has contradicted the timeline since Ultimecia possesses sorceresses, not sorcerers.
well for me...i thought she was pretty easy...i killed her in 1 round with zell...armageddon fist all the way baby!
if i didnt have armageddon fist then i think i woulda went for irvine's fast ammo (hopefully i'll get lucky and get the max time) along with squall (once again, depending on luck, lion heart)
I stopped playing this FF ages ago because of this very boss. What's worse is that the random encounters in Lunatic Pandora give out a piddly amount of EXP, so I can't really do much about levels. I guess I'll give it another go now these vids have reminded me.
one thing, keep scanning and healing Rinoa, and just keep attacking Adel. And it might be a good idea to train so the characters are strong, so they can deal a lot of damage. Squalls renzokuken is pretty good here, but if you get an ending move that deals damage to all enemies, heal Rinoa right away with another character. YOu might wanna haste your characters too so you get more turns.

i found a rly noobish way to defeat adel, since im bad at this game, i had to do this to beat her.
I use quistis squall and zell
1st, use aura magic, or aura stone on quistis. Cast haste on quistis
2nd Use homing laser as much as possible
3rd Use limit breaks of other characters if they are low
4 use another aura magic or stone cuz 1st will be down
5 use hero on quistis for her to not die by the ultima and use homing laser again.
As i say im bad and its the only way i could kill her

Note. I don't have any aura or meltdown magic and my levels are 23, 43 and 42.
Another thing is that Adel seem to attack very slowly in this video while she attacks me really intense with very short intervals.

one of the best RPGs!!
this game is the only game that all my characters made it to level 99 or was it 100.. i forgot,,hehe.. yeah i got this game 5yrs ago.. and squaresoft (now square enix) made a good job!!!
as for the adel battle..
my main characters were squall, selphie and irvine..
to those hu are still playing this game i hope there is still..
some useful tips,
1)dont use magic on adel
2)heal rinoa once overy 2/3 turns
3)cast aura on squall

4)if possible use only normal attacks, equip haste from cerberus
5)for maximum attck eqip ULTIMA on str
6)dont forget to cast shell and protect on rinoa because adel will most likely absorb a litlle amount of hp on rinoa
7)try to put in action
in no time u cud bring adel down

and also.. casting shells on ur party helps lessen adel's attack.
hope somehow i helped others who are still playig this game on their 10th time.
hehe... FINAL FANTASY trully is a remarkable game :)

this boss was a breeze for me but the funnest boss had to be the omega weapon which I beat on the first try, granted it took almost an hour to beat him but I did it. The second time i wasn't so lucky

this fight was well easy,just cast curaga on rhiona,then have a high leveled charchter use the cactuar ability kamakaze,adel died with 1 hit of kamikaze,kamikaze can also kill lots of tough enimies with 1 hit,like enimies on island of hell/heaven.

This fights really easy if you let Squall get to the point where he can use Ronzeknu or w/e his Limit break is. After a few turns of doing that for me Adel was dead, no problem... I wasn't even level 40 when I did it.

Well, you don't actually want to level up your characters much, as the enemies level up as well - Junctioning is the best way to increase strength. Yet the Str/Mag/HP/Vit/Spr Up abilities you can equip do increase each of those stats each time you level up, so equipping those abilities is better if you want to level up.

anyway, my brother and my cousin found out the secret. And its so simple. Just get anybody on your team and equip them with Doomtrain i beleive. Then learn Kamikaze, and viola, you beat him instanteanously.
This is what i remember and I think you still have to whack him a couple of times but its worth it. Though the character that you sacrificed for Kamikaze is dead, and wont get any xp, its worth the countless hours of frustration.

one of the hardest bosses ever for me! i had 2 start the game from scratch because i didnt have the battle points and i couldnt go back because i never had any other save points :P worth it though :D

To be perfectly honest, I think you wasted far too much time trying to protect your party. Too much emphasis in this game has been put on the spell Aura for this game. Sure Aura is alright but the way I played it was to have Squall as a magic support and Quistis as the main attacker. Quistis is capable of doing much more than Squall is at this point in the game and it just annoys me how Aura is used so much. I did it in five mins without Aura or protect or any of that crap.

Wow when I was 4 years old in 1999 my brothers were 9,and 13 and they both kept dying from adel because they didnt know shit about what to do but now when i play it i am 12 right now and i pwned Adel so dam easily i was like OMG i am going to die!But then i pwned the shit out of Adel he was like ALRIGHT I SURRENDER!!!

Best ending ever for a boss fight. Lionheart is awesome. And good job being at level 100. I always play it that way (leveling up a lot). Only pussies waste their time to not level up just to make it easier. It's funnier when it's more challenging.

yeah im on this boss and squall is lvl 60 and my other two characters are 45 and i cant seem to beat her she uses a move that kills everyone in one shot and its getting really annoying

I was surprised to see people say they cant beat her,but after i saw the video,if your damage was so weak like that,no wonder.
i guess you should find out about that thing called "junction","card mod" and many refining magic that GF's can teach you,because i kicked adel's butt fast,much like any other boss in this game...and im definitley not among not a very good FF player...so get a Walkthrough or something.

err..not a very good ff player...and you should know that your enemies level up with you,so in this game its smarter to avoid leveling up at the first discs..but start leveling up at disc 3 or 4[because of omega weapon.]

Adel is either a man or a sorceress on steroids. I have never seen a magic-wielding girl so buff that she ends up standing three times higher than the rest of the guys in the game.
She doesn't even have breasts. Adel is either pumping juice or she's really a man and has contradicted the timeline since Ultimecia possesses sorceresses, not sorcerers.

if i didnt have armageddon fist then i think i woulda went for irvine's fast ammo (hopefully i'll get lucky and get the max time) along with squall (once again, depending on luck, lion heart)

I stopped playing this FF ages ago because of this very boss. What's worse is that the random encounters in Lunatic Pandora give out a piddly amount of EXP, so I can't really do much about levels. I guess I'll give it another go now these vids have reminded me.

one thing, keep scanning and healing Rinoa, and just keep attacking Adel. And it might be a good idea to train so the characters are strong, so they can deal a lot of damage. Squalls renzokuken is pretty good here, but if you get an ending move that deals damage to all enemies, heal Rinoa right away with another character. YOu might wanna haste your characters too so you get more turns.

Sometimes I wish all RPG games only had 3 or 4 playable characters so I could just level them all up in one swoop. :)
I hate having, like, 6 or more characters, having to switch between them just so they could catch up with one another.
