The Micron wins in every way. The MicroKorg used to have the advantage in terms of easy vocoding, but now you can get the Akai Miniak with a built-in gooseneck mic.
i have to disagree, the miniak is 100 dollars more than the micron just for a built in gooseneck neck? honestly the micron has a vocoder is it really that much of an inconvenience to plug a microphone into the back?
it's not an XLR jack or anything, you'd have to mess with preamps or adapters and things. I did try to plug a crappy microphone straight into it once but it didn't really work, even with the gain turned up all the way.
You'll want to record a "pattern" of the loop, then start a new "setup" and assign a key to the loop (to turn it on and off). Then you can set the rest of the keyboard to another instrument and play along. Hope this helps.
All 100% from the micron right? Even effects? If so, I'll have to give this thing a chance, it seems more powerful than the audio demos make it out to be
oh damn your loop is wrooong

the main question still is what is the better virtual analogue synth, alesis micron or the microkorg?

sorry, by that I mean that the Akai Miniak is a rebadged Micron.

@perspeeks I plugged a SM58 straight into my micron with an xlr-to-trs cable and it worked great; more than enough gain.

im a noob for synths i just got an alesis micron i can only use presets is there a way for me to loop and play a lead with a background loop?

HELLO......if i buy alesis micron , are inside software for making step sequencer?
so what can i use to making step sequencer in alesis micron?
d0kt0rdn4 2 years ago
Yes, the Micron has a built-in sequencer.
perspeeks 2 years ago
Oh yeah , cool, but i've got one question for you,
can i making step sequencer in computer and i transfer to micron by MIDI?
d0kt0rdn4 2 years ago
Sorry, wasn't sure what you meant. Yes, you can do this if you have a DAW and a MIDI connection. I did it for this video.
perspeeks 2 years ago
is this better than korg r3?
katseazzz 2 years ago
The R3 seems a little less capable synthesis-wise, and is more expensive, but it has more knobs and a built-in mic. Up to you, really.

around 1:20 sounds badass man, good job!!!

I think you should sync the drum part with the synth. Good work, by the way!

I've already commented, but, I have to say that this is the best video of the micron on here. Perhaps that's just cause I like RDJ.

Thank you! I'll try to post some more videos sometime.

that'd be cool, soon i hope, there's no new videos on here

Biopharmer 3 years ago
Entirely. The reverb you hear is one of the Micron's onboard effects.
I sequenced it using my computer, but the Micron's sequencer is rather good and I could have easily sequenced it on there (it's just a bit slower).
perspeeks 3 years ago
cool, and props to the analord series, and the tuss
