I remember watching this movie as a kid and actually liking it. I just loved seeing all the in-game items and monsters in a live-action movie. Bear in mind, I didn't have any video game console at the time, and I was watching the french dubbed version (which come to think of it, has pretty decent dialogues when compared to the original version).

This movie is horrible, because it's not even related to the Mario Bros game franchise. Bowser should at least look like, what he is in the game. The plot of the movie should to be rescuing princess peach like in the game, not this stupid plot for a movie. The characters should be like the characters in the game, daisy should be a princess instead of a student. The goombas, should look like goombas in the game. The movie should be set in Mushroom Kingdom not Brooklyn, New York.

Nobody thinks about it, but this movie does follow the storyline. Two plumbers from brooklyn have to go save a kidnapped princess from another dimension from an evil tyrant who took over the princess' father's kingdom. Seriously, everybody can't be that blind to realize it.
