  • At 1:46 Why is tellimg him "Nobody's gonna hear about this!"?

  • I love the subtleties the movie throws in regarding each child's flaw. Mike Teevee's is, of course, his obsession with television. Note that when the Wonka bar materializes, Wonka asks Mike to take it, but Mike says, "How can you take it? It's just a picture!" This shows that an unhealthy obsession with watching TV will make you close-minded; Mike is so focused on TV and how it works that he is incapable of understanding a different form of it, i.e., "Wonkavision."

  • Willy Wonka: [unenthusiastically] 'Stop. Don't. Come back.'

  • Man, the children in this one are less rotten than the ones in the new one

  • Where are you taking me?! I don't wanna go in there! Hey, let me out, it's dark in here! Come on, mom, I want to be on TV! Let me out, mom, or I'll gnaw my way out! I'm warning you, mom, there's a nail file in here! If you don't let me out, I'll smear your lipstick all over everything!

  • I love how he's so nonchalante about those "no wait come back" lines.

He knows the kids are going to do whatever the fuck anyway, so it's like he's saying it just to cover his ass, and yet he almost wants the kids to fuck up anyway because of their obnoxious personalities.

    I love it!

  • @GojyotheFeared I see your point. But the only kid in this movie who was really obnoxious was Veruca Salt. The other kids just had faults- they weren't nasty.

  • Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory Part 11/12

  • i love how mike's last name is teevee

  • It always upsets me that Mike wasn't really that bad in this film, unline the Mike in the remake who I just wanted to punch

  • check out the track from "Shibaalba- The Last Moments of Mike Teevee" made with samples from this scene!

  • "Adieu, adieu, parting is such sweet sorrow"

    Capulet's orchard, scene 2 Romeo & Juliet (:

  • particles are way smaller than that lol

  • Willie Wonka seems so out of place. It's like a guy from the 90s being sent back to the 70s and have to deal with cliche Brady Bunch idiots.

  • @dav666777 economy

  • anyone else think that the oompa loompa song is a bit creepy? like it's half cutesy and half...haunting.

  • @amy274216 the same can be said for the entire film.

  • lol, i always wondered my brothers snickered during this scene. such a creepy dance

  • Is it me or does the right oompa loompa seem kinda fat?

  • 4 people got commercials in their books.

  • "Stop, don't, come back."

XD That was the best part.

  • @xxxTheXgenexxx Its like he knew that was going to happen XD

  • @xxxTheXgenexxx LMFAO!!

  • "no i won't hold you responcible" XD <3 <3 <3

  • I like he still wears his hat over the suit.

  • Willy Wonka reminds me of Glenn Beck

  • @PrincessPeach7780 Don't insult Wonka like that.

  • @PrincessPeach7780 That was mean.

  • @rmjdYES that is a VERY astute observation :-)

  • agustus commits the sin gluttony

    mike commits the sin sloth

    veruca commits the sin greed

violet commits the sin vainglory or pride

    creepers commit BOOM

  • @bluebeariscool you talkin bout minecraft :O?

  • Always loved the sarcasm of Wilder's performance. It was something iconic, at least I thought, that was lost in the remake. All of the sarcastic remarks for the children when they blow it always made me smile (as well as the ones made for various other events throughout the factory). Doubt anyone will ever top Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka.

  • I'm not the only one who raised an eyebrow at 3:08 right??

  • In some way, Willy Wonka never really said Mikes actions were forbidden.

So in some way, he did nothing wrong.

(But you could see the very lax and nonchalant: "Stop. Don't. Come back." as a sign he could'n do it.)

  • hahahaha "stop, dont, comeback" like wonka doesnt even care that he might die xD

  • i always thought he was hot........

  • Mike wasn't really bad. Augustus was a glutton, but he was a nice kid. The real brats were the girls! I was glad to see them go away.

  • @DisneyBlackJet Technically, all the children represent one (if not two) of the seven sins. Mike here was sloth. So, in a sense, he was bad.

  • lol 3:00 - 3:04 "What do you get from a *glut* of TV?".

  • Hmm, I always thought they said ,'Given good reading, you will go far'.

  • 2:36 He looks like he loves her xD

  • I love this wonka way more than johnny depp. XD

  • haha he's just trippin on LSD

  • Comment removed

  • I heard that each of the 5 kids represent one or more of the seven deadly sins

Augustus was obviously Gluttony an a bit of Lust (for food)

Violet was Pride, showing off in front of every camera she sees

Veruca was a combo of Greed and Wrath and maybe a bit of Lust as well (for material items)

Mikey was Sloth, watching TV all day

and even Charlie was eaten up by Envy, fortunately for him he doesn't let it overcome him in the end.

i love when movies make references to other aspects of life

  • These Oompa Loompas are WAY BETTER than the one(s) in the new movie.

This is one of the best movies ever.

Their dance moves are great too.

I think they may be gay.. but as they say.. different strokes for different folks.

    ;)

  • Willy Wonka had these kids figured out from the getgo, from the moment they encountered their golden tickets. How very clever of him to target his tour towards their most feverish desires.

He singled Charlie out right from the start, since he lacked a conspicuous greed, and considered him the only one worthy of an actual test of faith. Shrewd, Wonka, very shrewd.

  • Stop don't come back

  • Stop don't com back

  • No no, I won't hold you responsible! LOLOL

  • I love the way he says "stop, dont, come back" like he couldnt give a shite.

  • Did Mike do the voices for the Chipmunks?!

  • Ironically, there's educational Television.

  • Lol, no you won't be held responsible!

  • Am I the only one that, even as a kid, couldn't watch this scene without thinking that shrinking down a giant chocolate bar is a retarded business move?

  • comparisons with the 2005 version are not allowed. GOOD DAY SIR

  • the Mike in the 2005 version was a complete asshole, this one is just annoying.

  • You know, since Mike is the last kid that's gone, The Oompa Loompas should say "I've got a FINAL puzzle for you."

  • @shubdawg70 but that would blow the plot that charlie survives the cut, doesn't it?

  • @csmytubehwang1 Hmmmm... I guess it would

  • @csmytubehwang1 Also because there was still the final test of the Gobstopper that Charlie had to pass.

  • @shubdawg70 cool

  • Anyone notice the podium holding the Wonka Bar and Mike Teevee in the Wonkavision Screen?

  • BEST SONG EVAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Stop. Dont. Come Back. LOL

  • They made a slight error, when mike "zapped" himself, his mom put her arm over her eyes but Willy, Gpa Joe, and Charley didn't. And when the machine zapped mike, the light came from another direction. But despite these errors, I love the original!

  • The Oompa Loompa put the Goggles on Twice LOL.

  • "I think we'll put him in our special taffy-pulling machine.... that should do the trick." Ha Ha Ha! Gene Wilder rocks!

  • Comment removed

  • 2:15-2:38 LOL!

  • "No no Iwon't hold you responsible" i almost broke a rib i laughed so hard!!

  • @Grothfogtheviolent1 I wonder what he ment when he said that?

  • @legoguy800 he meant theat the Oompa wouldn't be held responsible if something went "wrong" with the taffy puller

  • love how Willy just doesn't care lol

  • @criticdudewthtude you won't get commercials while reading a book. That's what they said.

  • "no, i wont hold you responsible" lol

  • thumbs up 4 the fakest tv ever

  • you'll get no commercials? wtf, does that even make a shred of sense to anybody. if not thumbs up comment

  • Normally, If I watch an remake of a movie or a movie on a book/novel. I compare these two on which one is better. But in this case, the remake is awesome.Alone the fact that both movies are good, stops me from making a comparison. I just say, I like the old and the new one. Each one with their own strenght and weaknesses. PS: Sorry for my not perfect English, but I'll improve.

  • I watched Burton's Version first and later the old one. I liked the old one more. But I still think that Burton's Version of the Movie is pretty good, too.

  • @The34Hulkster88 I'll forever love the 2005 version more just because of the songs.

  • @dutch5746 You are right, the Songs in the 2005 Version are better. But they haven't this kind of magic than the old songs from the 70's version. It's hard to explain this magic, it is just a feeling that I get, when I listen to them.

  • @The34Hulkster88 Ya I know I like some of the old songs but I don't the same thing applies for this movie. I also prefer Willie Wonka to be creep like in the 2005 version rather than extremely sarcastic in the old one.

  • "Stop. Don't. Come back." I don't think he even cared. Listen to how he says it!!

  • Tropes has ruined this scene for me forever.

  • LOL I can understand why Wonda couldn't care less about Mike. He's basically giving Mike over to what he already chose to do.

And for that, Mike has LOST THE GAME. Goodbye.

  • "Stop. Don't. Come back."

    lol

  • "Mike! Where are you!?" Stupidest quote EVER! Miss Teevee is SUCH a bad actor!

  • lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame

    the new version is better

the most important thing, that we've ever learned, the most important thing we learned as far as children are concered, is never, never let them, never, never let them, near a television set or better still just don't install that idiotic thing at all...

  • @YeOldeCastle Your an idiot :/

  • @YeOldeCastle

    it's called fiction fucktard

  • @rainbowIchigo I MEAN THE 2005 VERSION IS BETTER YOU STUPID FUCKING SON OF A BITCH FROM HELL!!!

  • @YeOldeCastle

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAW you whined like a little bitch about "oh noes the childrenz should be kept away from teeveeeeee!!11!!1" when it's total fiction. therefore, you = idiot

  • @YeOldeCastle All right I have to ask: Why the hell do you hate this movie so much? The 2005 version was okay, but I think this version is better. WHY DO YOU HATE IT???????

  • @YeOldeCastle Hi Mike!

  • No wait stop comeback

I love it how he says it XD

  • I wonder if he's dick shunk too

  • Those oompa loompas are hardcore. Just look at those positions as they dance.

  • I always wondered why Mike would want to do the shrinking phase again, though I wonder what would happen if he did it again?

  • The reason why myself, (and yes, I watched this version like 50 times before Burton's ever came out) and others love the Burton version more, is because it's dark, just like the book, the songs are severely better, with a variety. Now, when it comes to Wonka's, Depp had the creepiness factor, the factor you'd think a man who hasn't had human company since, like, forever in his mind, while Wilder was better able to throw his emotions out. But for both versions, you definitely feel bad for him.

  • stop dont come back

  • @lvu16

I like how you can tell how little he cared by this point.

  • If I ever suffer a horrible fate, I would rather not have a bunch of orange-skinned dwarves singing about it.

Even if it was due to my own stupidity.

  • cool

  • The first version is SO much better that Tim Burton's.

  • I love this movie. I watched the new movie and it was such a disapointment.

  • "Stop. Don't. Come back."

  • @PurpleMysticDew

I freaking love the sarcastic way he said, "Stop. Don't. Com back."

Wonka already knew the kid was gonna do something stupid and thus eliminate himself from the list.

  • I just love how the Oompa Loompa motions for Wonka to bend back down, whispers in his ear and then Wonka says, "No, I won't hold you responsible." Oh just too classic. XD

  • I'm getting really sick of this song after I've seen every child disappear! Burton's version is muuuuuuuch better.

  • @awinxa - No way! Tim Burton's version SUCKS!

  • Oh really? COme on! HOw can you like this one after you've seen Tim Burtons verson? What's so good about this one??? Same song over and over again

  • The Wonka is better, the writing is better, the humour actually EXISTS, and--as much as I like Elfman--his songs were crap compared to Bricusse and Newley's work.

  • @awinxa Tim Burton is spoiling some classic films and Johnny Depp has become a terrible actor. Repetitiveness is the key to being catchy, and what's good about this one is that it's a CLASSIC. You cannot get a better Willy Wonka than Gene Wilder. He simply portrays the character properly whereas Johnny Depp just takes whatever he can get these days.

  • @paperdolltheory

No he do not take whatever he can these

days. He's asked to play in more movies

    then ever before!

I still think that this version sucks!

    Read the book!

  • techinically none of the kids died so i dont think its really his demise lol. funny

  • lmao 0:45

    stop....no...come back =D

  • I always found it ironic I was being told this lesson from an actual TV set.

  • Mike seamed quite a bit younger then the other kids

  • @Dinzzaa ur right probably like a year younget maybe?

  • @beauxbatonsboy Yeah or maybe 2 years younger

  • @Dinzzaa And definitely 'smaller', if you get my meaning.

  • @Dinzzaa The actor who play Mike is the youngest one of the cast.

  • thank you for this video, I am making a powerpoint animation in class about this, well it is our own idea for an animation and yeah picked this

  • Mike Teevee was greedy?

I guess greedy can mean other bad things too, besides "eating too much"

  • lol!!! "Stop. Don't. Come back."

    XDD

  • I pretended the light blinded me. I hope that the taffy puller won't pull out my eyelashes.

  • "Stop. Don't. Come back."

    *Sigh*

    Ahahahahahah

  • mike teavee is good actor

  • Willy Wonka is defiantly evil in this movie who actual press the button to do that anyways

  • 0:51-1:12 The Wonkavision's sound effects is from a 1971's computer or a 1971's videogame?

  • It's from a synthesizer...probably a Buchla or Moog modular.

  • yeah they are very cool.

  • 0:24 after he says "Mr. wonka.." i always think hes going to say,"Mr. Wonka, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?"

  • Gene wilder was the better Wonka, but I like the new songs better.

  • i just noticed that in both augustus gloop and mike teavee it says "if you arent greedy you will go far" i expected it to be "if you arent lazy you will go far"

  • Yes, the "greedy" bit doesn't fit in Mike's case and doesn't make sense to me. And we already had "greedy" with Augustus Gloop.

  • There was an undercurrent of greed throughout the whole movie. Willie wanted to find a child who wasn't greedy, who didn't want the factory just to have it.

  • i see what you're saying.....

  • That is a point. Maybe they wanted to bookend it, so they had "greedy" in the first and last songs.

  • They dressed that way seem spermatozoa.

  • chickren

  • the effect of the chocolate appearing on the tv is simple but I like it (but I feel that at least some scenario could be there to appear the object)

  • the way Gene Wilder says 'adieu' ^.^

  • Epic cartwheel fail at 3:37

  • remakes are ALWAYS terrible

  • Bullshit! Thats one of the most ignorant comments I´ve heared. There are alot of great remakes like Charlie & the chocolate factory :), The Ring, and My Bloody Valentine.

But there are also complete shit remakes like Pulse, or The Grudge, & even Friday the 13th :)

  • @Frisby2007 This version was made in 1970 and released in 1971. Back then, we didn't exactly have the amazing effects we did in 2005. Lay off.

  • @bossingmueller3927 I'm not talking about the quality of the effects (learn to read). I'm talking about how the hell it's possible to see the particles when you're not supposed to.

  • @Frisby2007

Have you ever heard of "suspension of disbelief"?

  • "Stop, Don't, Come Back."

  • @itxt2txt love those lines..best ever :P

  • @itxt2txt One of the best lines in the entire movie.

  • lol he didnt even put emotion into that sentence

  • It's funny how Wonka didn't even sound like he cared when he told him to stop and come back.

  • "Stop, don't, come back."

SO much better than the new one.

  • I played Mike T.V., it was awesome! But I didn't sound like a chipmunk, I was just allowed to play my like gameboy on stage, and roll my eyes as people left the factory.

  • I don't care if you do not like my comment but I liked johnny depp better

  • "demise" of mike teevee

    LOL

  • is it just me or does the singing sound like William Shatner?

  • cool video.mike tv is my favoritue character

  • Lol I love how enthusiastically Wonka tries to get him to come back.

  • Me too.

  • yeah it's great, He's practically rolling his eyes "there goes another one" lol

  • Well, I don't see anything wrong with it. Plus this song and dance is the best one the Oompa Loompas did the whole time.

  • I thought in the movie is says 'if you read then you will go far' instead of 'if you're not greedy you will go far'. It doesn't fit there and they already said that with Augustus. It's like they modified it or something. Bizarre.
