Saw it, Casey was in a wrong position to stop it, he thought the shot was going wide, but it was a hard shot, but not as hard as Mats did on that night.

Yzerman's shot was about 10-15 feet longer and got in the net just as fast. Whether Casey was in position or not is irrelevant.

Yes it is, he didn't stay square to the shooter, Kipper did. But the puck came out so quickly when Mats shot it and it hit the exact same area but on the other side as Stevie Y. Mats had to ready his shot right away cause he was getting checked, Yzerman's had no checker on him and took his time. There's a difference there.

That still has nothing to do with how hard he hit the puck. Also Yzerman was skating right at the Blues two defensemen and had Wayne Gretzky chasing him from behind when he shot it.

Yes it does, the timing of his shot, shorthanded and in overtime, the defence man gave Yzerman more room than Dion P. did against Sundin and Gretzky was slow to catch up to Yzerman, he took his time in getting to him.

wow what a moment. i was nearly in tears when i saw this just like mats lol.ive been such a fan of mats, and for some reason he's never been embraced properly in this town up until this moment,and it was a small victory for a guy who deserves it more than anyone else.class act,Maple Leaf forever.
