  • nice vid, try Vbar type chains next time, they work better in packed snow, just a thought

  • FAIL

  • SRATATATA!!!... kurwa wyslac tych komentarzy do polski zeby sie nauczyli jezdzic !!... Dla mnie filmik zajebisty i tojota zajebista i KAMELEON KAR KLAB jest najlepszy na swiecie!!... kciuki w gore!!

  • so much hate

  • Yet another example how a Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is better

  • time for lockers

  • funny i have never need chains in the snow in the mountains three feet or more i guess but i also run the right type of tires too offcourse.

  • i wish i was in "kameleon auto club"... not

  • crappy toyota

  • get out of low range, sometimes creates too much torque for snowy situations...also unnecessarily revs the shit out of your engine.

  • used to own same model hilux damn things nearly unstoppable, never got stuck with it even with open difs front and rear

  • no reason 4 chains

  • 4x4 means all 4 tires have the potential to spin the tires with least resistance are going to spin most cases its the front left and rear right unless there getting more traction then the oposite side i hope this helps

  • I wish TOYOTA would sell diesel trucks here in the USA!

  • If this truck is a 4x4, why are only the back tires spinning? I thought all four tires are supposed to turn under engine power with a 4x4.

By the way, why is the phrase "4x4" used to describe a 4-wheel drive vehicle? What do the two numbers mean and why the multiplication sign?

  • the front tires were clearly spinning, he just doesn't have a locker. Without a locker, most 4x4's are only 3 wheel drive or 2 wheel drive in dodges case. (open diferentials)

    4x4 = 4 out of 4 tires are spinning.

4x2 =2 out of 4 tires are spinning.

  • @arnoldii2 what do you mean in dodges case 2 wheels spin and other makes 3 wheels spin unless you have a locker in either axle or both your only gonna get 2 wheels to spin one front and one rear

  • @blazerboy2011 because dodge's have LSD's and in the mud, in 4x4, the majority of the time, two wheels spin. my dad has a ram (4x2) with LSD and only one tire spins. My GMC has a locker in the rear and 3 tire spin in the mud, but occasionally all 4 will spin.

  • but if your dads 2wd ram has a limited slip how come only one tire spins ? it would have to be a defective limited slip

  • it switches back and forth to which ever has the least traction, so only one tire spins at any given time. i'm just not fond of open or LSD differentials...

  • then its not a limited slip its a stock differential a limited slip would lock in both tires when one tire started to slip

and a LSD is a Limited Slip Differential

  • what you're thinking of is a open differential or "stock" diff. a diff that locks is a locking differential. LSD's can lock, but i wouldn't offroad with one. I know people do, but i prefer a locking diff.

  • I agree. With limited slip one tire will always spin, and the other will kick in from time to time. Its like semi-possi

  • @blazerboy2011 limited slips do not lock, they just do what the name says, they limit the slip, the two wheels stick together more than an open differential, but dont lock together like they would with a locker

  • My chevy seems to like spinning all 4.. and it has an open diff, front and rear, go figure. :P

  • @Totenhosen17 with enough power open diffs will spin both tires. chevys seem to have that issue alot.... lol i went mudding monday and all 4 were spinning. wish i had ARB air lockers or at least a Detroit.

  • it's retarded why people are down rating your comment, i actually think it's a very good question.

4X4 means that there are 4 tires, and all 4 of them have driving power in adverse conditions. 4x4 is mis-used in the sense that not all 4 tires usually spin unless the differential is locked.

a differential allows the vehicle to turn on hard surfaces with a straight axle without binding.

6 wheel drive vehicles can be 6x6.

  • kjkolkowski > ".. people are down rating your comment .."

Perhaps the questions were not ideally worded. Regardless, I was under the impression that, with a 4x4, all four tires turn at exactly the same speed regardless of surface or traction conditions for any one tire. At least that was my experience with 4-wheel drive military vehicles driven years ago (but is not the case with the vehicle shown in this video). Now I understand that only occurs when the differential is locked.

  • you see now-a-days a lot of SUV type vehicles are being advertised with "True 4x4" which is what it says, all 4 tires have true pulling power at the same time because they have a differential locker of some sorts.

for an off-road vehicle it's actually pretty easy just to weld the differential gears together instead of buying a locker... but that's a job for a good welder.

  • @kjkolkowsi Done that before, a lot cheaper than buying a locker ^.^

  • Haha thats funny. Time to get abs air lockers, well my 2003 duango is stock and gives power to the tires with the least amount of traction witch is stupid and there is no point calling it a 4*4, Still a 4*2, Now my 06 durango's back drive shaft broke and havn't fixed it so now it is just front wheel drive. witch is better than two. Friends say its not good for the S.U.V. but its been like that for two years and still runs great.

  • i put my dick in your mom stfu

  • weak

  • those arnt chains they're are cables!

  • not too steezy

  • all chain do is dig you deeper

  • those are chains they sell to city people -- almost useless

  • sbi = czyżby czechowice ;]

  • hilux nice car

  • stupid toyota thing sounds like little ford probe with a fart can on it

  • pięknie napadało :) Toyota Rules :)

  • it got stuck because its a toyata

  • Not becouse it is Toyota... Stupid driver.....

  • ya and its a crapy toyota

  • are you kidding those old toyotas if u have a locker are better than any other truck off road, even with 347,673 miles on them

  • shure what ever dun duna duna dun

  • lockers

  • The limiting factor in that setup is that wide tires on a small pickup have too much drag in deep snow for the small engine. Tall, narrow tires will be more effective.

    Try an old 1970's F-250 4x4 with stock 7.50-16's, a 4" lift, ladder chains,and lockers.

  • chains are great n all, but if you dont have any lockers, why bother?

  • my sister's tonka truck could do better than that

  • My moms durango could make it up that hill with no chains. Your trucks front wheels gave up and the back weels kep spinning. Ourdurango has 4wheel drive lock, so the wheels spin at the same time no matter what tire has less waitor more wait. We also have for sets of snow and mud chains.

  • What year Durango? The older ones couldn't lock anything.

  • in light snow it might lock.... it has no true locker.... it has a fairly good limited slip tho

  • Limited slip for factory, streetable vehicles can still only achiever up to 60 percent lock. That is why they are called 'limited slip' and not mechanical lockers.

  • Jedimaster9414 I hope you know that 4lock is just Dodge's name of 4x4. A Durango is going to have a center differential which means the engine power is split 50/50 to the front and rear. But the axles are going to give the most power to the wheel with the least amount of traction. Its a Durango, not a crawler.

  • no limited slip = bad

  • Hi,

    Just answering to your comment.

"no limited slip = bad" which cmp69 sent to me.

If it were not you just ask yourself who else is using your YT account!?

Imagine what would happen if that person were not your fan!

    Anyway,

    Happy EASTER again.

    Voitec.

  • lol wtf are u talking bout?, snows to deep for chains btw...lol

  • use the brake trick :)
