you cannot go back in time.. just because it wasn't perscribedin Mecca that is why they didn't do it.. but once it was prescribed it had to be done.. that is how everything goes in Islam you dont go back in time.. yes I agree he is very ignorant when i comes to this topic or maybe he chooses to be so.. I also saw a video from him and he is also wrong about hijab and also for attacking a sister for asking him a question about Abu Ghraib prison...
Word used from prayers(Namaz) in the Quran is 'Salah' The same is used in Quran referring to Darood. But there is a clear distinction b/w them. One has to offer a prayer when the Jama'at gets ready to offer Prayer(Namaz). Saying Darood will never full-fill the farzi'at of Namaz. Same is the case with Jihad. There is no such thing as greater or lesser Jihad. It may mean a million things but it refers to Kital. More than 400 verses of Quran are about Jihad (Kital) How can it be a lesser Jihad?
Allah revealed in Sura Bara'at (Repentance, IX) the order to discard (all) obligations (covenants, etc), and commanded the Muslims to fight against all the Pagans as well as against the people of the Scriptures (Jews and Christians) if they do not embrace Islam, till they pay the Jizia (a tax levied on the Jews and Christians) with willing submission and feel themselves subdued . So at first "the fighting" was forbidden, then it was permitted, and after that it was made obligatory."[11]
Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home)...... 4.95
Muhammad's SAW jihad is found in Sahih Bukhari & Sahih Muslim. Open the chapters on "Jihad". It's all qital - fighting. There is no hadith about struggle and naffs. Not one.
I'm sorry but when it comes to jihaad then Dr. Zakir Naik is ignorant in that field. He says that jihaad changes with time. That is wrong. There is no evidence for that claim. Then he says that the best jihaad is Hajj. Yes, but for WOMEN not men. And every example he gave is at a time when the jihaad is fardh kifaayah not when it is fardh ayn like now because the lands of Islaam have been occupied.
Yes, it does, brother. He's right. If your parents are elderly and in need, the best Jihad is to take care of them. If you're a student, the best Jihad would be gaining knowledge. If you're a man with an overactive libido, the best Jihad is to strive to control your lust. If you're the President of a Muslim country and some random noob decides to nuke your neighboring Muslim country, the best Jihad for you would be to assist your brother Muslim state against the oppressor.
linguistically it may be jihaad but that does not take away the ISLAMIC, SHARIAH meaning of jihaad which is fighting against the disbelievers. Look all the ahadeeth where the Prophet (sallalahu alayhi wa sallam) said that the greatest jihaad is against the disbeliever and when you are martyred
Amr bin Absah narrates: A man said O Messenger of Allah what is Islam? He said, “Islam is submission of your heart, and that the Muslims are safe from your tongue and your hands” He said: “What is the best of Islam?” The Messenger of Allah said, “Iman (Faith)” He said what is faith? The Messenger of Allah replied, “To believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His Messengers, and the resurrection after death” He said, “What is the best of Iman?” The Messenger of Allah said, “Hijrah”
He said what is hijrah? The Messenger of Allah said, “To leave sins behind” He said, “What is the best of hijrah?” The Messenger of Allah said, “Jihad” He said what is the best of jihad? The Messenger of Allah said, “the one whose horse is slain and his blood is spilled.”

"Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and those who strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with their wealth and lives.' (4.95)
IF THAT'S THE HIGHEST JIHAD THEN WHY DOES THE QUR'AN SAY OTHERWISE.

Here is what Allah says:
