It requires a religion based on faith to be enthralled by this hymn, The more pure the religion, the care of the widowed and the fatherless, the more beautiful it sounds. God Bless the Unborn and all true pro-lifers.
@TheBjd1709 BULLPUCKY.....it takes an appreciation of music to appreciate this. I love this piece....and it has nothing to do with purity of religion.....
this hymn does break the heart! Break the heart from the earth and bring it to where the treasure should be. In Heaven! Alleluia! in all languages of the earth!
I love the Cherubic Hymn at liturgy, its so pure and angelic-cherubic. This composition of the Hymn is very beautiful. As someone below said, it does break the heart in good way, placing your heart in heaven and in the palms of Christ.
Bortniansky brilliant Ukrainian composer... been singing this for years as a male voice choir... now listen the Dobrij Christov's No 2 just as brilliant
Okay, I take that back. That's a different version, and the subtitles for this actually are correct, exept you didn't put some of them up at the right time.
Okay, I realize that I missed a line. It's "Come let us who mystically represent the Cherubim, and who sing the thrice-holy hymn to the life-creating Trinity, now lay aside all earthly cares.
The childlike quality of soprano's voices dreaming of heaven. Free of those who do evil. I guess thats why it says Lest ye become like little children.....
Tchaikovsky's is best, Mokranjac, and then the Romanian version ny Musicescu. The Roman Catholics seem to have deleted this important hymn from the liturgy. Now lay aside all earthly cares.

The church choir I grew up in sang it like this, except in Greek.
So beautiful, it was always my favorite part.

Wow, this is beautiful! I'm orthodox, so I hear this song every week, but it's so beatiful I just had to find it here.
Yeah, the subtitles aren't correct. Here are the actual words of the song:
Come let us who mystically represent the Cherubim, and who sing the thrice holy hymn, now lay aside all earthly cares.

Wow, now I understand what kind of singing must have been sung in Agia Sophía that converted the slavs.
