I have an amd 4600+ 2.4GHz (100mhz less then 4800+) with ATI 3870 X2 and 2GB RAM and can't play it smooth on medium settings.

No I have the full game with patch 1.21 installed.

I am scared about overclocking a CPU because it could be very risky and damage my processor.

I am not sure why you all are having problems. My card is a 3870 and I run a 4800+ x2 (OCed to 3.0) processor. The issue may be a Nvidia card on a AMD board since AMD and ATI are the same company they tend to run bettery together in my experience. Also I keep my system very clean no extras booting and no peer to peer programs installed at all (EX limewire, Torrents, Etc...) Those always will cause software problems.

Well I use the 3870 so i dont know about the 9600 and on 1024*768 you can see how well it does. About 20-30 frames depending on whats going on. that is on high settings not very high.

hey zwqshow,even the 9800 gx2 cant get more than 50 fps on 1680by1050 with everything maxed and no aa enabled so.... that crappy 9600 will not even reach 25 fps.furthermore the image quality of the radeon cards is waaaay better than the nvidea ones.

Did you see "nvidia the way its meant to be played" on start-up?

That means that the game is made using mostly Nvidia tech, AKA its runs better on Nvidia cards.

i'm pretty sure it says mainly because crytek and nvidia have some sort of business deal where they have to promote each other somehow

e.g with valve, team fortress 2 still says that its best played with ATI when you check video settings, even though they're now working with nvidia and offering all these freebies

actually theres nothing like playing better on NV or ATi cards........after all both cards have some components inside....all that matters is drivers........with proper drivers u can Crysis on ATi very well........

How about using that 'S-video out' on your graphics card, to your video camera (or a dvd recorder)? That's if video cameras have 'S-video in'...
