Noooooooo! The SMS app kept losing texts on my Samsung Android device, its much easier to know what is going on in Symbian! Android looks dull and I hate the notifications, they are so small and dragging the bar down is a pain!! I really like my N8 tho it would be nice having the OPTION of running Android or even better, Meego :)

what is Good OS u call ? Girly effects or what ? it drains much of memory and CPU. thats why, iphone 4 needs 1Ghz processor. and 512 ram. for stability, it dosnt mean its faster. Symbian is java and C++ builded OS which makes it much light and stable, like windows on PC. and cuz of no girly animations, it gives full power to 3D GPU for smoother gaming and support web with flash input. which dont need extra ram.

even 128mb is a enough for it.

Nokia S^3 IS better than iPhone 4, but require more apps written for them. Ovi store is EMPTY.

WHO would use a phone as a computer? And WHY would somebody do that to himself? Get a netbook, does much more.

This new symbian doesn't looks too promising to me. I will stick with MAEMO 5 until MeeGo is released. Nokia should forget the freaking Symbian already and put all of their effort into MAEMO/MeeGo. My N900 is the greatest cellphone equipment that I have ever tested. They should move all of their Symbian apps to MAEMO (there are many already) and just stick with what I think is the most intelligent OS that they have created to date, the MAEMO (or MeeGo if anything) Platform. @Pavellionheart that simply isn't true. Nokia could stay in business for a very long time because their brand loyalty is second to none. The only thing going for the iphone is this cunjured up fashionable image and a good interface. There were phones from 7 years ago that had features the iphone lacks (ie full bluetooth). Nokia still own 40% market share of a huge industry. 4 symbian phones are sold every second. Nokia aint going nowhere.

the iTunes is a pain but you can manage it, the only thing matters to ME is the speed and performance

@Pavellionheart The N series has a reputation of getting sped up significantly by future firmware updates. I'm confident that this phone, with its considerable power, will be the same. I never understand the digital camera point you make, the beauty of a phone with a camera is convenience, it is always with you. If you see something you unexpectantly want to take a picture of you will not have your nikkon there. But you will have an amazing 12MP Nokia.

Nokia phones have a distinct European feel to it. I don't know if it's good thing or not for it on the US market since iPhone and Android, the two trend-setters here, seem to have certain implicit agreement regarding, you know, how their phones feel. Maybe the coming release of windows phone 7 would throw in some variance. But at this moment, I don't know with its current OS and phone line, Nokia stands a chance in the US market, people here are used to certain taste in smart phones.

maybe, but the way I see it Nokia needs a serious UI make-over, the current symbian UI looks kinda 90s if you know what I mean (I also read on the news yesterday that Nokia will adopt linux as OS for all of its high-end smart phones after N8, so this is gonna be the last high-end symbian-based smart phone from Nokia.). Sorta like how Windows XP compares to Windows 7, UI wise.

People think nokia phones suck because of the OS... Nokia needs to advertise software updates. THEN nokia's devices will come out top. i remember when i had my N95! after a few updates later, i had a super-fast and efficient phone that almost NEVER crashed. Ngage support was added and a few oddities were removed. the fancy menu (not the main one) was also improved in terms of speed and the phone as a whole was super-stable after the update. i WILL get the N8 and then the updates will do the rest

@otso56 haha are you kidding me? I've used Symbian on my n97 and n80 and I can confidently say it's awful. How come is it reliable? It crashes all the time and lags every five seconds. The user experience is the worst over any other mobile os. The ovi store has a few non quality apps and it's slow as a few (Winmo for example). The future of nokia is Meego, as showed on the n8 symbian has no future.

Nokia is still stuck up, to get to app page u have to click the bottom button then the app icon and then u reach three steps, is nokia crazy the iphone u just have to flicker (kinetic scroll) anywhere on the first page of UI?
