when I click shift and restore and choose the 1.1.1.ipsw file, itunes says"exracting software" and "preparing ipod for restore", but then it says an unknown error has occurred and the ipod cannot be restored. Then my ipod disconnects. Any idea what I can do?

lol broke my ipod. gave up and restored, but when i went to sync it, its been 12 hours and still says sync in progress. on itunes it doesnt say the song names its says syncing

Jailbreak won't seem to work. When I open the jailbreak.jar file it lets me typ in the password but then it says this that jailbreak.jar couldn't be opened look to console for information.

Ok so this time I went through the process of jailbreaking from the link program...and once it completed the process of reading flash image it didnt begin to restart..it somehow went into restore mode and wanted to be connect to itunes again.......any ideas? thx

Reboot iPod and reboot your comp

I'm fairly certain that you shouldn't restore to 1.1.2, but rather, upgrade. When you restore, everything is erased, so that's no good.

when it does the 1.1.3 jailbreak it restores and reboots anyway so this way it goes quicker starting with a blank touch and putting it all back on later

Not your music, etc. I mean the jailbreakedness. It's erased when you restore to 1.1.2, but not if you upgrade.

let it do the full execution for a while. make sure yer wifi is connected. but before that reboot yer ipod. and try again

When you say Open up that 1.1.2 file and change the password and install SSH then click jailbreak, it says: This utility can only be used if you have already run Oktoprep before updating to 1.1.2. I retried 4 times and im now giving up. Even tho i had run OktoPrep it still wont let me use it. PlZ HELP ME OUT I'VE BEEN STUCK ON THIS FOR 2 F**IN HOURS!!!

yeah that happened to me to. when u install oktoprep unplug the ipod and shut it down then turn it back on again. then plug it back in and keep going.
