  • THIS IS THE KIND OF MUSIC I

  • great!!

  • It's just you.

  • @jgrodnik Probably being the 1 out of 189 with a "dislike", clearly he represents nothing but his little self. People gotta learn to relax some before locking-in their little judgements.

  • Is it just me or is he a smug condescending fuck..?

  • @MrBrianojee ...No

  • @DJTonySeal You're right. It's not me..

  • @MrBrianojee Dude Itzhak Perlman really is a very humble man.. he has a great skill and all the musicians playing with him in this piece know that far better than you do, MrBrianojee. Perlman gives each and everyone of them an intro, and a warm up of the crowd- what more can be asked for?

  • @MrBrianojee hes just trying to be funny, why cant you try harder?

  • yeah, start swinging on milts solo, thats the way to do it mjq!

  • I'm a graffiti artist, and a big fan of Hip Hop and Rock, but this...Is excellent.

  • Short of actually being there, I'll take watching this as a pretty damn amazing experience.

  • 結束的草率了點

  • Simply the best cool school quartet , Itzhak aint bad either LOL

  • I love all these videos of MJQ and John Lewis trying his damndest not to hum. Greatest melodic jazz group ever.

  • Mazeltov. Bravo! The BEST rendition of Gershwin's Summertime I have heard by far.

  • love this. can tell so obviously that perlman is really essentially a classical musician, but he doesnt do a bad job of jazz

  • I love this composition and enjoy every variation, thanks for the share, great !

  • this cat can play the fiddle! beautiful.

  • What a joy to hear one of the world's greatest classical musicians play with one of the world's greatest jazz quartets!

  • i love this song from porgy & bess

  • j'ai les disques de Modern jazz quartet et Gershwin est un merveilleux passage de leur notoriété...Les radios devraient passer plus souvent de telles musiques et nos jeunes gens seraient plus instruits sur notre passé...

  • Beautiful! I'd be so nervous I'd puke on my violin.

  • BEAST!!! Perlman has always been an inspiration to me!

  • One of the best.

  • Makes sense. Milt was always a Deagan fan. Is this performance on any album?

  • Show!

Pearlman is a very nine gay isn´t???

  • What kind of a vibraphone is that? I've never seen a frame like that.

  • @beaverteeth92 Probably Deacon

  • @beaverteeth92 Don't know about the frame, but the distinctive sound comes from the fact that Milt Jackson preferred to set the vibraphone's oscillator to a low 3.3 revolutions per second (as opposed to Lionel Hampton's speed of 10 revolutions per second) for a more subtle vibrato. The sound really worked.

  • My ears have been completely violated, and I am happy to have had it done.

  • This is about 2 clicks above magnificent, whatever that is... Seeing/hearing where these musical styles perfectly converge is about as good as it gets. Thanks.

  • Itzhak Perlman é perfeito toca varios generos musicais perfeitamente um verdadeiro violinista excelente improvisador tambem perfeito

  • One of the best summertime versions I ever heard

  • It takes a whole lifetime of honing god given talent to be capable of this kind of musical conversation.

  • Has anyone seen an online copy of England's Carol by MJQ? I'd love to find a copy....

  • Beautiful.

    Just beautiful.

  • This is proof that God exists. Sublime.

  • It's good to know that classical musicians occasionally have this urge to try their hands at jazz. Good try Itzhak, it just needs to swing a bit more.

  • ok so who the fuck are you?

    do you even play music?

    obviously your just a retard

the style is all simply melodic and not permitted to swing....just look at the music if you know what that is.

  • Chattyshow looks music as a show, He is not able to listen the music....

  • Summertime in the shtetl ;=)

Mr Perlman, you sound warm enough, but what on earth made you say "pi-AH-no"?

  • Thank you, MarcoG, for your pleasant appraisal.

  • What does SHTETL stand for???

  • LOL. not an offensive term. Shtetl would be Yiddish slang for the Jewish ghetto. For more information of Shtetls (joking) and over 600 jazz videos, check out our site.

  • ROFL!! shtetl.

  • Ithzhak is just great but the definitive version of this number by MJQ is on their Porgy and Bess album with Milt Jackson playing most of what Itzhak plays--absolutely hypnotically.

  • thank you

  • Your welcome!

  • Jazz is were it's at

  • what a legend!!!

  • nice!
