Guys there was no special meaning behind the vocals switching off. Paul pops in for a line or two because the melody went up out of John's range, that's all. They did that sometimes. John even explained that's why the singer changes sometimes in certain songs.

You bet we Canadian girls screamed as loud as anybody else. You would here the first few bars of a song and the rest was drowned out in a roar. .I was fortunate enough to be sitting in the 6th row center at the Toronto concert in '66. When John started with "He's a real Nowhere Man, living in his nowhere land", my friend sitting next to me passed out ,stone cold!! I grabbed her before she hit the floor, trying not to miss anything on stage. She came to in time for the next song!

Back in 1964, I was a 12 yr. old girl madly in love with the Beatles (especially John) .I was lucky enough to see them in concert at the Montreal Forum and the again in Toronto during their last tour in 1966. This song along with No Reply and I'll Be Back are my favorites. I'll be 59 yrs next month and I remember those days like it was "yesterday". There will never be any one like them again...RIP John X
