  • Surely that animal skin is illegal and a health and safety nightmare ? It's an accident waiting to happen and I can confirm after watching this carefully that it is certainly not something to laugh about.

  • Butler's amusing for those with the drinking gene who are able to get pissed without making cunts of themselves...... and then there are the Matthew Parris's of this world, tutting at us

  • Boring, boring - I haven't tutted so much in irritation for years

  • the best in the world

  • Fantastic, wonderful stuff. However, the original black and white version was better. There are several attemps, in this version, to improve the comedy which were really not needed. The original was totally classic without need for improvement. I cannot let this comment pass, however withought saying that, quite apart from this scetch, what a wonderful comedian and comedy actor, Freddie Frinton was.

  • @Nojnotpu You know: this is the original version filmed on 8. Juli 1963 at the "Theater am Besenbinderhof" in Hamburg. It was later colourized using a computer system. Sorry, there is no other version available, In 1968 the German tv station NDR wanted to film a new colour version of this great sketch, but unfortunately Frinton died too early. This coloured version was made in 1999 but it is not popular in Germany. We prefer to watch the original version in b/w.

  • @hw1075

Thats's not true. There are different versions. The NDR television channel recorded several versions in 1963. Most well-known is the 18 minute version. It has an introduction in German language by narrator Heinz Piper. A 11 minute version was recorded by the Swiss television. This version is also with Frinton. There are only some little differences.
