  • Amazing , She is playing without looking at her fingering. She is playing by just feeling the strings and the neck of the sitar. Well done!

  • I love when Young Girls are barefoot !!!

  • I don't know about everyone else but I truly dig this chick's legs. Wow.

  • so apparently you all are too focused on her legs (which i admit are pretty amazing) to notice the real beauty in this video: An american female sitar player.... aka future wife!!!!!!

  • LEGS

  • Hey, I like watching this: I'm buying a sitar (don't want to spend a fortune) and videos, like this, can be helpful. She's not a master of the instrument (like alot of other youtube concert post); she's a beginner--like I am.

    Reggie Bender

  • Nice legs

  • Please tune your sitar properly.... its not tuned to the right scale... also... u need to practice..... and try not loosing the pick... u'll end up playing just the Da stroke...

  • Err, you're kind of holding it wrong. It's supposed to rest on the knee and your picking hand's just supposed to hang. That way, there's no weight on your fingering hand and playing is much easier.

  • Im not like the rest of these perverts commenting so plz dont take this in any rude way :)

But girls that play sitars look soo hott, not sure what it is it just look amazing balance p.s that sitar would sound a beast if you had a electric tune to it :)

  • MAY YOU GROW SENSIBLE AND LEARN TO RESPECT CULTURE AND TRADITION.....

  • you have awesome legs

  • Nice sitar.

  • i paused the video at 0:00..........;)

  • you should pratice more ... its good to start with a guitar to get used with the strings and fret then you can try more complex instruments like sitar...

  • Nice legs.

  • nice sitar.

  • @StopTheMoti0n Get that filfth out of here. Pervert.

  • wats prince sitar?

    i want a sitar!!!

  • she has nice legs at least haha

  • lucky i want one....

  • DIsappointed

  • No feeling...

    This practising-stuff doesn´t sound nice!!!

  • Keep up the good work. I have one important criticism. When you use your 2nd finger at the end of an ascending piece DO NOT lift up your first finger. Always make believe your first finger is tied lightly to the Baj with a string

  • Awesome! I wish I'd had the dedication to keep playing mine.

  • Eh, Shonu ! Your left hand fingering is spot on. Well done. Your teacher is teaching you well and you are getting the info. Good on you both. The technician in me is dying to move your main bridge back about 1/2 " and shuffle a few frets closer to that bridge. Carry on, Bitte.

  • BEAUTIFUL! KEEP IT UP!

  • Gosh, you do have the following. Nice feet, nice legs, and a nice face. And i like you're playing, keep it up, :)

  • A real good attempt on the sitar. Some of the frets seemed a tad sharpened. The flow of the plucking is a tad choppy, but it is difficult to do it without the mizrab. Keep practicing whatever you are doing, and listen to more Indian classical music to see the totality. Good luck and keep it up! :-)

  • the accent of your playing is as annoying as an accent of a hardcore indian trying to speak english...

  • lmao

  • sexy

  • hell yeah nice legs

  • Very nice. I'm just learning myself, and I must say, I've never played a more fun and expressive instrument.

  • huh..nice legs..

  • I am not an expert but I can tell you that your basic left hand technique is quite good. As other's have mentioned, you need to move all fingers of the right hand together, even though you only pluck the string with the index, though I can understand that this might be difficult since you didn't have a mizrab on.

Other than that, you may want to move your right thumb a little further up the neck of the sitar, to near th

  • to just below where the bone part meets the last fret.

Also, what you are playing is not really a song, it is more a scale exercise

  • You are good at Sitar. Good learning and keep up the hard work. I am sure you would play much better in times to come. Please ignore all the stupid comments other folks have left here, just ignore em and concentrate on your learnings. Best Luck.

  • are you at UCSD?

  • man I was disappointed watching this.

  • me too! I have a friend that plays much better and there is barely any hits on it, most likely that fact he... that explains plenty i am sure.

  • if you paid for this course you were robbed.

  • Good Job !!

and very nice legs ;) hehe

    see u!

  • Hey thats brilliant, great work. To play even better with your stiking hand, try and move all your fingers rather than just the one, both goin in and out strokes, and that will make it actually easier for you to play and the sound will be better too =) take care, keep up the great work!!!!!

  • i almost fell asleep but her legs kept me awake...

  • Tat sitar doesn't sound like a sitar.

Or maybe or playing in a non-sitar way.

    It should be sounding like:

    "Tzeeeeunnnnzzzzz.. Tzoiiiiiiinnnnzzzz"

  • dont quit you could get Alout better Post more Vids and Trip me the FUCK OUT when im Frying

  • nice feet !

  • @megamass00 with u here man

  • Bullshit Shut up man~!

    Lick your asshole :D

  • where did you take classes?

  • good job. keep it up and keep practicing!

  • epic fail

  • she did better than you could do, asshole!

  • my father bought me a really great sitar, great sounding professional one for only $130. Ivoy work and everything. it's a lot cheaper to get one from India, have a relative or someone you know buy one from there, $6,000.00 is a rip.

  • A sitar has 16 string

  • how much did that cost you? i'm real interested in buying one but know nothing about what's good and what's not and what costs too muc etc

  • I think $600 pro sitar will last a long time. student sitars are good but they say you'll need to upgrade if your serious which will cost you more. get the pro ones at instrumental savings to save money.

  • know that I am going with what other people say about buying a sitar.

  • Nice for beginner..but you should get rid of that staccato style of playing...good luck

  • as far as her sitar talent...

    she has nice legs

  • Hi ! A fiver from The Olympic Music Messengers just 4 having the courage 2 play the sitar. Cheers !

  • nice a know its hard to play with out a mizrab (pick)

  • nice legs and feet:)

  • nice anahata...

  • Nice Legs.

  • nice legs

  • is that your sitar ? if yes, could you tell me how much it costed you ? I'm curious :) oh and, keep practising, you're doing well !

  • Who is your teacher? Batish?

Suggest listening to: (1) ANANDA SHANKAR - mostly fusion - luckily somebody posted some of his titles last month here on YouTube. (2) VAMAN BALSARA - the only one I have seen rendering instrumentals of Western vocals.(No longer published).

  • A Sitar is a musical instrument from the very rich Indian classical music traditions. Please show some respect and dress conservatively while playing Indian instruments. You may take some tips from Ms. Anoushka Shanker

  • takes years with a very competent teacher to play that thing.practice practice practice practice.

  • that's coz u have no talents yourself and pick on people who do because u are jealous.
