But thats not the first time we've seen Jacob in the cabin, because for a breif moment in "THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN" you can see Jacob after he gets angry, but I dont think it's christian because it looks completely different. Plus when you can't see him in that episode you can see a small hovering black smoke.

There's a whole scene in the fifth episode of season one where we see Christian's body in a morgue. And he is definitely dead. Don't we basically know that the monster steals bodies and uses them for some purpose? Like Eko's brother Yemi.

I think it was someone who works for Paik, Sun's dad. According to The Lost Experience, Paik has involvement with Hanso and a shipping company that built the Black Rock. Maybe that wasn't Jacob's chair...maybe the empty chair was Jacob's...and that was someone in a meeting with him. Maybe?
