mitsubishi's have two fatal floors 1 the headgasket always goes on them 2 the oil pump goes on them and they are a weaker engine but i however do like them when isuzu made the dmax series the engine was poor but that has now been rectified. if you want looks go for a misubishi if you want a workhorse go for isuzu, i own a isuzu trooper 3.1tdi which is the best engine isuzu produced this is the ultimate workhorse engine for 4x4's and easy to maintain.

The D-max in the Dakar rally bears no resemblance to the D-max you buy at the dealer. It's like saying the Holden Commodore V8 supercar is identical to the 3.6L Commodore Omega available for $28,0000.
The D-max is an awful example of shoddy engineering - tarted to look good. I put it in the same category as Great Wall...
Isuzu SHOULD make a 5-star truck... It's easy! VW have and it will be a market changer.
