  • anyone know if this was the last time this actor was used for Mr. Freeze's voice?

  • The thing that makes Mr. Freeze such a beautiful character is that he isn't coldhearted in the slightest. And that's not something you expect. He's a cold-themed scientist who speaks in monotone, being emotionless is easy for him. But in every word, he wavers and waxes, speaking in terms befitting a poet rather than a monster. And then you realize that it's all a trick; his love and his conviction are hidden behind an icy visage, breaking the surface with every word.

  • theres so much depth to Freeze's character. he's awesome!

  • I'm a 19 year old guy and Mr Freeze's death gets to me every single time

  • @grikuomega i in a return appearance he's body was completely destory as well as his mind so it return him to his bitter personality

  • Looks like Brice gave Freeze the cold shoulder

  • Mr freeze is in a

    *Puts on sunglasses

    Icy grave

  • Seriously, all freeze did was kill gang criminals and steal their money in order to bring back his wife. WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE?

  • am i the only one that finds it strange that Bruce dont even react on freeze dying?

  • Did Wayne no longer care about people dying?

  • Damn the Batman cartoons are just $%^&*#@ heartbreaking at times.

  • In my eyes, he is a hero and a noble character. As a cryonics member and activist, I can fully empathize with him. When my dogs get frozen a few years from now, I'll think back to what Freeze did for his wife. Today's corpse is tomorrow's patient. One day, even cellular death will be a treatable condition. Freeze's words always bring a tear to my eye. "I can only beg your forgiveness, and pray you hear me somehow, someplace... someplace where a warm hand waits for mine."

  • the whole episode, bruce and terry argued. bruce call freeze a villain while terry says he's a good man inside.

after this scene bruce change his mind. He still call him a villain but also a good guy.

  • forfill?

Learn to spell first, and second Batman Beyond is not coming back.

  • @AmericanNohbuddy It's no my petition. If it was I would use proper punctuation and spelling.

  • @AmericanNohbuddy Didn't DC Said they would somehow adapt Beyond in the Series?

  • @OmegaChosen0

    What?

  • @OmegaChosen0 I really don't see it as a problem. (I mean they reboot the universe every 6 months anymore)

  • @AmericanNohbuddy Thats exactly what people said about Airwolf, Baywatch, JAG, Jericho, Chuck, Star Trek, Family Guy, Futurama, Beavis and Butt-head, Fullmetal Alchemist, Arrested Development and Dragon Ball. But yet they all came back.

  • @NutHouseCartoons

Bruce Timm said the series was DONE. They even wrapped it up with the Justice League episode "epilogue".

    Go fight a worthwhile cause.

  • petitions almost never work, and for them to even take you seriously you should at least use proper grammar in your petition.

  • @XboxLikeWater It's not my petition. I just linked the one that had the most votes already.

  • @ChaiMochi why did Mr freeze have to die why couldn't terry save him and get him some real help.

  • @XboxLikeWater Maybe people would take your comment more seriously if you had actually seen the title and read the description before you clicked 'post'. Ironic, isn't it?

  • Gives the man his damn wife already you animation director, he's been trying for 50 fucking years.

  • I always had sympathey for freeze. Victor Fries grew up as a socially ackward child. Even his parents though of him as a strange child. When he got older, he met Nora, the love of his life. Nora was like the only person that understood him, but then she came ill and to buy time freeze froze her and by accident came under a condition to stay under freezing tempertures. He would break the law in order to save his wife. He has no desire to kill people or steal. He only wishs to save his only lover.

  • @ChaiMochi Could you tell me what season and episode this is?

  • Where do I sign? Oh by the way you can now watch Batman shows on the hub like Batman Beyond, Batman the animated series and even the 60's Batman. Anyways bring back awesome cartoons!

  • damn you blight!!!!

  • When freeze died i ate Icecream to pay my respects <3 to a great misunderstood villain and to to Batman. the last good show.

  • You can sure rely on Batman to make some of the best cartoons ever

  • you can't really say there are no good cartoons anymore. There are a few good ones, the best I've watched recently would be Young Justice. On the other hand, I think that's from the creators of the Batman: The Animated Series, Superman, Justice League, etc.

  • I get goosegumps when Freeze says his line to batman.

  • Its not like there's no good cartoons these days.. if you want good current superhero shows watch Avengers or Young Justice. They exist, just watch em

  • Marvel sold out to fucking disney...... Cmon DC keep us good cartoon wanting people in the game fuck all these new cartoons. its been said but im going to say it again, they dont make um like they use to.

  • In my eyes is mr. Freeze just the one villian with a soul...

    R.I.P with Nora...

  • @Passan09

He's one of the only Batman villain who's victim to tragic circumstances, his grief is completely understandable, which makes him a very deep character.

  • @Passan09 Many of Batman's villains have "souls" because most are who they are through tragedy. Penguin was tormented and hated his entire life, but hints of honor and kindness buried beneath his hate gives him a "soul". In Ivy's mind she's waging a righteous war for plants. The Riddler actually turned good guy before relaunch. Deadshot is willing to risk his life for friends and family. Bane has honor. Catman is somewhere between good and evil. The list goes on and on.

  • @Teleisawesome you are right. thank you for your response. i know the most of them, but not all.

  • @Teleisawesome i wrote this comment just for the vid. i don't thing that the others would die without take the hero with them (sry for my bad english, ihope you understand my opinion)

  • My favorite Batman villian of all time (sorry, Joker), and he goes out like this. You poor, poor bastard, Freeze. RIP.

  • Aw. That almost made me feel sorry for Mr. Freeze.

  • No matter the coldness of one's heart, it can always become a flame in presence of a warm soul.

  • @gojira4life no shit sherlock!

  • @TheKantrius What was that good for?

  • @gojira4life yeah...

  • @TheKantrius Whatever, I don't care.

  • Who else as a rational adult and looked back at this bullshit and felt bad:? If only because the character was developed for a fuckin decade?

  • you have my signature

  • I really liked the ending part of Meltdown, I especially loved the music. Tragic theme, but it still kicked ass.

  • Movies suck these days, overly done CGI, poor acting, too many pretty faces, every time they remake a show/series/video game or movie that was an original master piece they instantly destroy it. Hate it when Hollywood does that. That's why Old School is the best.

  • They just don't make shows like these anymore, the violence, the tragedy, some people may not like or approve of this stuff, but to those of us who cherished these kind of programs during our years we hold them dear to our hearts. Long live the original Batman and Batman Beyond series!

  • I have joined the cause to bring back the beauty that Cartoon Network once held in its veins. Let us all join hands and cleanse Cartoon Network of the disgusting drek which now plagues its once glorious veins, end the pathetic garbage, bring back the works of art!

  • I thought Mr. Freeze wan't able to die because he was suppose to live forever.

  • @Hanna71617 he's not invincible.

  • :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

  • I remember this episode, god I miss this show!!

  • @anagron63 I miss this show too

  • Signed your petiton

  • I signed your petition. Ahh, Batman Beyond.

  • they just don't make movies with enough action, they save it all for the cartoons

  • @tronguy93 have you seen cartoon network's new shows? Mad is too violent, regular show has crap and other stuff, so CN really changed.

  • the reason why i liked it is because he can now see his wife

  • I would love a season 4 I really would, however the show wouldn't stand a chance today on cartoon network, it's just "too violent"for the studio to air nowadays with an amazing voice cast and a great writing staff, I think it would be better to fondly remember the show for how amazing it really was. Delivering impressive cinematic moments like this.

  • Back then people weren't afraid to show this.

  • Got any ideas how can I listen to them usic in this clip? It sounds like the original Heart of Ice theme but with a sick distortion.

  • I have to agree super hero cartoons are shit nowadays. Who wants to watch a baby spider man fight a baby doc ock, not me. I agree bring back the classics like amazing spider man and these sort of batman shows.

  • I don't know why they had to just destroy these such well done cartoons. I used to look up to so many cartoons. But now what do Children have: Hannah Montanna?! Hell NO! We need to give back the child hood we had to these kids. All about the heroics that these characters bring. I hope your petition helps us. Good luck bro, WE NEED THE DARK KNIGHT BACK!!! And other great cartoons too :)

  • Signed

  • Got my signeture

  • There is Green Lantern The Animated Series on Cartoon Network Which is actually made by the same people who worked on Batman the Animated Series, Batman/Superman Power Hour, Batman Beyond, The Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited. My only gripe with the show so far is that it's computer animated.

  • It would be great to bring a new season, but the thing is even if they decide to bring it back it will probably be diffrent writers, and won't be good as before. Ah the 90's/ early 2000's was a great time for cartoons. I sure do miss it.

  • give me quality entertainment, I will give you humanity

  • Batman beyond iz sick. New cartoons suck

  • They need to bring back Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, and everyone (still alive) from BAS, and expand their masterful storytelling to other superheroes

  • @l3R0K3N8BIT Unfortunately Mark Hamill has gone into retirement.

  • i love batman beyond but ure petion wont work u would need millions of signatures

and batman beyond is still on TV its on the hub now along with batman the animated series and alto of other good cartoons

  • @ladyaceina The best thing to do to support Batman Beyond would be to buy the two trade paperbacks that are out now that cover the most recent comic run and to buy the new comics when they come out later this year.

  • He lived a monster, he died a man.

  • Mr freeze has lived a long time and stays the same age he could have saved himself if he wanted to, but no he chose death or did he. In batman the animated series he saved himself and nora, heads up hes alive........

  • He could have frozen the place, if he wants to stay alive. I guess...

  • @Boomstick898 True, but why should he? Back during the Batman TAS freeze's wife Nora was revived but went off with another man. In this show (40 something years later), he had the chance to live life right again, but that damn female scientist and Powers (Blight) basically betrayed him and tried to kill him.

  • Mr.Freeze somewhat reminded me of Darth Vader, both physically and mentally....they both wear armor to conceal their mangeled forms, they turned to evil because of a loved one, shatter their pysches and turn evil for what they lost, and ultimately sacrifising themselves....anyway amazing scene, and amazing cartoon....wish they had more of this today

  • Batman beyond is in the hub

  • this was back when cartoons were awesome

  • RIP Arnold ):

  • You have my signature. Bring back good cartoons that actually told a story, that was heartfelt and had emotion. I hate this damned kiddie crap that is going on nowadays (I am looking at you Wizards of Waverly, Hanna Montana, to name a couple). It's a damn disease, just as bad as that steaming pile of horseshit that is Twilight. Thumbs up, man. Thumbs way up.

  • @Dracula2K9 Thank you so much! :)

  • @ChaiMochi you have my signature

  • @Dracula2K9 thank goodness for the grimdark world that is dc universe, where else can you see the entire city of bludhaven reduced to a toxic waste dump, filled with mutants and enough destroyed buildings to insure that at least 2/3rds of the city was killed in the intial blast

  • @Dracula2K9 you know the two shows you mentioned aren't cartoons right?

  • @Foolishyhuman I know, but I expanded my opinion to other shows as well.

  • @Dracula2K9 you forgot about batman the brave and the bold that one also a pile of horses hit

  • @maolungkwi *horseshit

  • @maolungkwi Ahh, thanks for reminding me.

  • @Dracula2K9 I like both of the shows you named, but I agree with you on your other poitns.

  • @Dracula2K9 you my sir don't know what anime is

  • @WTFimatroll If you're referring to Japanese Anime, a lot of that is trash too. There's a few golden ones like Death Note, but most of it is as much garbage as most American cartoons these days. DC has been one of the few shimmers of hope in anime (anime = all cartoons), and it continues to be.

  • @Doncroft1 some one hasn't been keeping up, Death note is awesome but stuff like soul eater, full metal alchemist brotherhood, code geass, shows there is not just hope but that there are even awesome animes to come. Seeing how all those anime's are better then death note.

  • @WTFimatroll I havent really watched the rest, but I did watch FMA:B and DN, and in my opinion DN is better

  • @emiliolocura2 thats upsetting but it is your opinion and i respect that it was better through your eyes. but in my opinion FMAB was way better i loved death note as well, but the main thing being said was don't lose hope for animes, trust me there are many more to come that will be awesome!

  • @WTFimatroll May I ask why? Maybe the reason I love DN is simply because being in Light's position, I would have probably done the same, yet I still cheered for L...I think the reason is because I found myself able to see both points of view

  • @Dracula2K9 Not to mention how all the (used to be) good networks make a terrible show, they somehow manage to think that they can make up for it by making an even shittier one while still keeping all the terrible shows on the air and still making episodes for them.

  • @Dracula2K9 dude, virtually anything, nowadays included, with DC Comics sort of stuff in it is going to turn out good, Young Justice, for one, and yes I agree most cartoons are crap now

  • @Dracula2K9 I don't get it. You say bring back good cartoons, but yet you mention Wizards of Waverly Place which is not a cartoon. I get your point though, but good cartoons are coming back. Have you seen Young Justice? It's pretty good.

  • @Ttadmer I broadened my scope of tv shows in general, maybe a little too far on my part, but stil, happy you get my point.

  • @Dracula2K9 No worries, I get you completely. Cartoons have declined in quality I miss the good old days of the Justice League Animated Series too.

  • Bring back the good cartoons!!!

  • "Believe me, you're the only one who cares..."

I often wonder if Freeze was including himself in that assessment.

  • It's terrible how he went out what's even more terrible was they only brought him back just to be used. I mean hasn't he suffered enough being in that closet by himself for all those years no one wonder he said that line. He gets shot at, then is about to be murdered dam. Believe me Terry was the only one who cared about victor freis

  • i don't remember seeing this episode?!

  • is that dick greyson batman?

  • @awesome2daheart no its Terry McGinnis and the older dude is Bruce Wayne telling him to get out. The original batman.

  • @awesome2daheart terry mcginnis

  • end of the film. The thing I would do different then anyone else would be to get the original voice actors like Mark Hamill to dub their voice over an actor playing the joker. How sweet would that be? Let me know what you guys think. I need to hear from the fans.

  • @najhoant he totally did. Schwarzenegger's too...he had too many puns. You know that a story is good when told in a cartoon and can STILL make you feel sad for him. Plus, the music was perfect timing for this. Amazing episode. Made me go and download all of batman beyond just now, and watch it from episode 1 to this episode. I'm a film maker now, and doing re-makes is usually a bad idea, but I'm writing a story, and I'm thinking about pitching batman beyond, live-action, with this part near the

  • Soo .... Matsu-sensei

  • This is my favorite episode of Beyond but I think Paul Levitz wrote the greatest story with this Batman in Batman Superman annual 4.

  • I was so disappointed when I realized there weren't any commentary on this particular episode on the dvd. Such a sympathetic and great character.

  • This...when he said,"believe me, your the only one who cares..". Such sadness. Gave me a tear. Great job, Michael Ansara.

  • @mejiavince With that line alone, he kicked the ass of Schwarzenegger's Freeze

  • i hate terry for not saving Mr. Freeze

  • @ervinjay13 Um. what could he have done exactly? Freeze put a wall of ice between them, and the place was about to blow. So that isn't very fair for Terry. He would have saved him if he could.

  • @ervinjay13 I hate you for not saving Mr. Freeze either >:C

  • @link3kokiri oh sorry your comment has been thumbs down.

  • so sad D:

  • Did anybody actually watch Zeta Project?

  • @RichardDuryea i used to watch that program

  • As a filmmaker, I have thought of creating a feature length Batman Beyond film. WB thought about the idea for a while and decided to make Batman Begins instead. If I were involved the plot would be a combination of the Rebirth episodes (pilot) and the above episode; to have not only an origin story for Terry, but Mr. Freeze to bridge the gap between old and new. Old man Bruce Wayne would be played by Clint Eastwood of course.

    Thoughts?

  • @RichardDuryea not a bad idea, but it begs the question if it should be made. not that i didn't like this series but it always struck me as a sequel that tried real hard to capture the essence of the original but just couldn't do it and that would undoubtly transfer onto film. I can't exactly say why but making it into a full length feature film just seems like a bad idea. sorry dude. no offence intended

  • @Ajax5405 I appreciate the comment. If anything it would be a breath of fresh air. Each director has had a completely different view of Batman. I personally enjoy retelling of stories with a different tone ie: Tin Man (Steam punk version of Wizard of Oz) But if I do end up creating this, I promise not to include a 'Bat Credit Card' or too many 'ice' puns.

  • @grikuomega what I got from the resurfs of mr. freeze is that his body was degrating. All the ice he uses isn't a power. In short his dieses kept him away from her. And his mind grew inbittered which made him colder.

  • Victor"Freeze",was maybe the only villian that i cared for, cause he really wasn't a bad guy at all just wanted to save his wife. And this series was cool but some things were uncalled for like killing off Freeze making the Joker(imo)weak.........and the final with the whole story from BTAS to TNBA and to BB was it was no Jason Todd. But overall was close to any comic i seen and was awesome while it lasted.

  • @Thekingpac2014 i agree, what i liked about the batman villains was that many of them were tragic, Freeze, Baby doll, the Ventriloquist, the depth of the depth of the characters good and bad made this show what it was, made the batman cartoons (at least the 90's) what they were. the joker (mark Hamil) i think was the best, becasue he was captured as the perfect nemesis of batman, complete opposites in every way, black and white. but villain deaths are also what makes the show.

  • @MAnnaconduit Yes!Thats was great how the creators of the show did that.It was dark and the setting for this series,Batman would sometimes care for his foes.Victor was one of those foes that was so tragic, really harmless, and behind all the ice was a human being. And it was sad to see him go out like that. Also i think 1st place goes to Mark Hamil was a great voice actor, and was the best(imo)Joker. But i love Heath Ledger's Joker as well 2nd place(imo)and Jack in 3rd.But they were all different.

  • @Thekingpac2014 yeah each joker brought something different, Jack pioneered the psychotic killer, Hamill brought into play the clownish humor and unbridled criminal genius as well as the psychopathic and ledger brought the destructive order of chaos that was symbolized in the character itself.

  • @MAnnaconduit1 I agree,Heath was my favorite of the 3 but i know that Hamill was the best i think. And Jack was just awesome.I dislike the fact that people always compare the 3 together, when they all were different.Quick question, do you think Anne Hathaway will do a good catwoman?I think she will.

  • I really like this series, but it's very tiresome that everybody dies and go back again, successors take the original heroes place and impostors the dead (or considered as dead) villains place.

  • Bruce Timm easily made Mr. Freeze one of the greatest sympathetic villains ever, he never wanted ANY of this horror or chaos he rough, he only wanted his wife's warm arms to hold his cold body.

  • that batman costume is so lame

  • @discjockeyjole considering the amount of tech thats built into it

its a freakin bad ass costume

  • @hardwirecars

some of us prefer the real batman :D

  • In a way, you gotta feel sorry for him, he wasn't a morally a bad person, he was just trying to save his wife

  • They aren´t dead until you touched their corps... and even than it´s not for sure.^^

  • I remeber cartoons like this when i was a lil shrimp but now...WHAT ARE THEY PLAYING???? Cartoon network is more like pvp drug network e__e they all seem high when they thought up these new cartoons.

  • Lol

  • doesent every villan die in this show?

  • @TheAmazingDarknight Unless they go through something worse than death.

  • This All Started With Batman The Animated Series Then The New Adventures Of Batman Then Batman Beyond And then all the movies in between. I Miss Cartoons like this if u do too thumbs up

  • I see Mr.Freeze's death as a sacrifice so Terry could escape because if he did not stop him, they both would have died. But it still is sad.

  • 80s, your cool, but....90S HAD SOME OF THE BEST CARTOONS EVER MADE

  • @roboguy75 damn straight!

  • if u think about it freeze was really always more a good guy then a bad guy

  • @MrEwing00 agree. Freeze was only tryin gto save his wife from the beginning, and was a victim of his own experiments. In most of the new/old batmans, freeze isnt shown as a cold blooded crimminal, just someone who wants to save his wife nora. Ithink this TV show was true to the story

  • @TheDoctorofOdoIsland - vampyres were only used in The Batman vs. Dracula. Good premise, but could've done a better job, i think.

  • I remember crying when I watch this as a kid I grew up with the original BTAS and Mr.Freeze was a favorite of mine

  • "Believe me, you're the only one who cares..."

  • While it is never detailed what ailment befell Nora Fries, she was kept frozen so that Victor could continue his research and find a cure. But his former boss caused the incident that affected Victor, making it nearly impossible for him to live outside of sub-zero temperatures. Following the blood transfusion that saved Nora, Mr. Freeze returns as a disembodied head and revealed that he worked so hard on Nora's cure, he never suspected his own condition was worsening.

  • @MarcTaker I thought Nora needed an organ transplant. It seemed like whatever operation they were going to carry out on Babs in Subzero would have killed her, and I can't see an illness that can be cured by blood transfusion warranting cryogenic suspended animation.... At any rate, there should have been enough type O blood in Gotham to make abducting Babs less practical.

  • @TheDoctorofOdoIsland - you would think so, but apparently blood type O is incredibly rare in Gotham, especially amongst women. was it an organ transplant? i haven't seen Sub-Zero in a couple of years, so my memory is a little fuzzy.

  • @MarcTaker I was wondering myself and looked it up on the (generally reliable) DCAU wiki. Yep, organ transplant. Blood type of course came up in the movie because they needed Babs specifically for the operation to succeed. But that still makes one wonder why their wasn't any type O blood in Gotham. Vampires maybe?

  • @TheDoctorofOdoIsland I'm pretty sure it was a rare variant of O blood type not just any kind I think

  • He's so EEM...
