I read Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, and HATED it. The story just dragged on! The Lauren Conrad books were AMAZING. If you liked those, I'd reccomend Reality Check by Jen Calonita. I can't wait to get Dark Flame by Alyson Noel!

HEX HALL!!! An awesome lead character, an author who takes risks...Alot of unexpected twists in this story, deaths and betrayls. It's not dark, and it's very funny. Sophie is a great new voice unlike all these bland characters being created for books. A great read.
@Mrs151Addison Well, for adult books there's not alot of adult content, or, admittadly, action, but the author isn't afraid to take risks and the lead character carries the book along nicely. It wouldn't be the first YA I'd recommend for someone who likes mature reads, but I loved how different it was to the boring books I've read recently, with sexist female leads who allow themselves to be treated like defenceless puppets by their 'love' interests. It ends with a shock, too.
Before I Fall is a great, meaningful story. The Vampire Diaries: (The Return: Shadow Souls) is so hmm, I don't know the right word to describe it but just read it lol. Shadowland isn't as interesting, I would say, as the first one, which was my favorite of the series.
