Well, they were (yeah, let's say 'were' for the most of them) German casting 'stars'. But some of them are really good and some are like... a big catastrophe and were never seen in TV again. Although I kinda liked this song because it spreads a little bit more joy than the original. It was an experiment and claimed the top of the charts. Nowadays it wouldn't because.. yes.. Most of them are unknown.
