He just forgot it, that's all - even Yo-Yo Ma left his cello in a taxi once! Great musicians (actually, musicians in general) tend to be a little absentminded. But yeah, I think that if I had a Strad, I would never let it leave my hand, just because I would be so excited that I had one! :)

Still, being extremely absentminded myself, I can't say the same thing would never happen to me. :D

Mr. Quint is clearly very, very talented, and I think he deserves the fine instrument that he has. :)
