Thank you so much for this! I'm 14 weeks pregnant with our first child. I decided I wanted to have a home birth years ago, long before I had even met my husband. It was a relief for both of us to find out that we felt the same way. His mother had had him at home, and he watched his sister being born at home when he was 7. I already had lots of reasons for doing it and this video has inspired me and affirmed my decision. His family is supportive, mine thinks I'm crazy! Thank you so much!
I enjoyed watching this. I try to tell people they have a choice and even tho all my babies were born in the hospital those people had a time dealing with me lol. Because it's ALWAYS something. And since it was my intent to be educated on the birthing process and all the things I could do, I often knew as much as them.
None of my experiences were ideal. Ideally, I would have had them at home.
thank you, simply thank you for being an advocate for the spiritual, emotional, and so much more part of births, i'm expecting my first and have witnessed my sister birth 2 times in a hospital, and after that i knew that i would never take myself to a hospital to bring a life into this world. But in the community i'm in there is not much support for this choice i've made, everyone seems so scared for me and this baby. So again thank you for your voice, your thoughts and support
I have had both. Like you, my first birth gave me the strength and courage to have my next one at home. I am also one of 5 children, 4 of us were born at home so my mum was a big influence in concreting my decision to stay home with number 2.
@edaj84 Wow how wonderful to have a Mother who is supportive of homebirth...healthy relationships can definately assist in having healthy babies at home! Love and Light on your journey!
@tintawicharaka She isn't just supportive of homebirth, she has only attended 2 hospital births, one was a transfer from home so it was a cheating hospital birth :P and the other was my first childs. I don't think she will ever attend another hospital birth, it scared and traumatised her too much.
@tbursee complications are always possible....as for our births we do our best to prepare ourselves with positive affirmations which I strongly believe help to prevent complications....it is all about how you feel and what you are comfortable with....there is no wrong way....Love and Light to you and yours!
Wow!

I know women have been havingbabies withouth doctors for thousands of years, I guess my concern would be for complications and bleeding.
