Alternatively, they sometimes don't respect Western norms/values like freedom of speech. For example, a Muslim (former) friend of mine said that anyone who makes fun of Islam deserves whatever punishment comes their way--meaning he essentially condones violence and limits to freedom of speech.

I had the same idea of immigration, in fact, that's how I distinguish illegals from immigrants: Immigrants are symbiotic, illegals are parasitic!
I had a neighbor whose dog kept crapping in my yard, I collected all the crap, and tossed it into his house one day. From then on, his dog has been in his backyard, fenced in, and prevented from invading my yard ever again!
We have to find some way of throwing these shits back into their country in a way that will make the message clear!
