Es realmente increíble que una maquinaria de esta antigüedad siga funcionando, todo un obra de arte de la mecánica el mantener estas maquinas en funcionamiento.
That's a nice locomotive, I like so much the sound of the EMD GM locomotives. That G8 seems to the G12 locomotive (there are G12's in my country) , but I can't find the difference beetween the G8 and G12, could you explain me this?. Excellent Video of that GM's working!!!

During years 1970-1978 you have no idea how many times I had to spend the night in this terminal just because I missed the last train 9.00pm and the last bus10.00pm to Falla City. And the only amusement I had, is to watch this locomotive doing this maneuver (Cuban machinist call this traction unit The 900)
Sounds like music to me! =)

I loved running a small passenger train with these old girls. They did a great rock n roll at speed.

@enriquedaniel86 The G8 has a 8 cylinder EMD 567 engine while the G12 has a 12 cylinder EMD 567 engine. Awesome video!

They used these G8's in Newfoundland with narrow-gauge trucks before they went road-favouritist in 1988

It is a nice city in Cuba, not far from Ciego de Avila. You will find Ciego between Santa Clara and Camaguey.
I have a very good remembrance of these very friendly cities in Cuba! Huib1966

These must have been bought before usa made the trade embargo when they thought they had the right to tell other countries what to think?!!

notice the lack of handrails along the walkways? very typical of the 50's-very early 60's in the US. Awsome sound. great job & thanks for posting!
