  • This looks like it's going to be a great documentary

  • CANT WAIT!

  • A realm where on man can take the place of an entire band or an entire symphony even. Never having to deal with creativity clashes or personal issues with other band members. Where all your energy can be put to creativity. Not locked in a world of conventional instruments and as they said not needing any musical background. Able to be creative in art without knowledge of a single chord or brush stroke and can be just as visual as looking into a painted masterpiece. My slice of Heaven. ;0)

  • Fantastic demo! I want to see the rest!

  • I had a salad for lunch. It was good.

  • If you liked lego's as a kid, you'll love modular

  • I'm dying to see the entire clip that gets used from 0:15 to 0:20 . That's one beautiful sequence!

  • would love to get into this kinda stuff, but I know almost nothing about it. Anyone got any tips/resources for complete beginners?

  • @JoobSensei You can DIY cheaper than it is to buy modular systems just Google DIY modular synths and youll find plenty. But most can be very involved. Digitally however you can get the feel for modular by purchasing Propellerheads Reason. Reason can simulate many different analog interfaces along with digital on the front face. Upon turning it around is completly modular. I would start there with a good controler Keyboard like Novation or Akai. Be prepared to spend money in any case....

  • veverzay

  • @theprstc

Yes, Malcolm has been on the top of my list for a while, we are working hard at it...

  • @booster744 aa yeah, the legend.

  • 2:58

That isn't really why I want one, but it surely doesn't hurt!

Fortunately, I have access to a modular system at school (Moog/E-mu/Doepfer) three hours per week. It is always the highlight of my week!

  • Where's Richard Devine? Need to get him for this film!

  • Sean wins at 2:52 !!!

  • Bleepity Bloop: The Movie

  • nice will the documentary be on youtube?

  • @sonicase well, most things end up on YouTube eventually, but it is most definitely not a "made for YouTube" film

  • Great video, thanks

  • i like that

  • @everyone - pls listen to this thru some decent cans, it transforms the promo...

  • Modulars are sexy. What can I say?

  • Looks more impressive than the Moog docu. from a few years ago, which was ok but not great as it thought it was. I am glad there's hopefully going to be more (any) focus on European synth-makers and musicians (as good as north Americans are)

  • Looks cool. When is this out?

  • modulars are so cool, unlike 90% of the music that comes out of them.

  • @cromlek

Just like guitars. Only with them, it's 98%

  • @cromlek maybe it is not modulars fault, but those who use them ;]

  • TERRIFIC! Great film, great interviews, even great motion graphics for the title logo.

  • @VJFranzK was about the say the same thing! everything is on point!

  • uau!!! ;-)

  • uau!!! ;-)

  • I can't wait to see this, I want to watch it at a cinema!!!!!!

  • Totally awesome...can't wait to see it! Will you be going directly to DVD, or shopping it around the festival circuit for a while first?

  • Looks like a cool ass film! I think I am going to purchase the Dave Smith MoPho keyboard. Anybody have any other ideas around the $800.00 price range?

  • @SailfishSoundSystem Doepfer Dark Energy. Pre-patched and modular at the same time. $445 from Juno Records.

    [and, that's me at 4:30] :D

  • @toddsines Thanks. I was looking at that synth on Robotspeak a few days ago. I would need an analog sequencer for that I think. Or maybe it has midi to cv converters? I dig the Moog Little Phatty because it has cv inputs and the mopho does not, although the Little Phatty doesn't have a sequencer.

  • So awesome!!!

  • Oooooh, this beat at 1:32 makes me get horny! Somebody knows i.d.?

  • @GaEbBo

That is an original piece by SOLVENT, who is creating the original soundtrack!

  • @booster744 Thank you!

  • Can't wait to see this..!!!

  • I love the shots of the Synthi AKS. I have one of these sitting in one of my closets for years.

  • @vandertop2

That's got to come out of that closet asap!

  • @vandertop2 why in the world would you have one just sitting in a closet? give it to someone that would use it!! (like me)

  • Wow, awesome! Nice HD photography btw...

  • Wow, very awesome! Excellent job on the quality! I look forwards to to getting the DVD! :-)

  • Awesome! Can't wait to watch the whole thing!

  • Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaah modularmovie.....let the drooling start.

  • hey if you need a midwest unit let me know. i'm pretty sure i can scare up a grip and a camera.

  • @suitandtieguy haven't forgotten about the idea of setting up some remote interviews as discussed... STG + same goes for Make Noise + Richard Devine. so we'll be in touch about this at some point... btw, the track starting from 6:50 that ends the doc, is done by me & is part of my Wave Shaping demo for the film - makes heavy use of my Eurorack STG Wavefolder module

  • How come richard devine isn´t on this documentary

  • @Sphereal He didn't get paid to be in it. *snare roll, splash*

  • @DwineZiphy hah!

  • Can hardly wait for this to come available on DVD !!! Stellar Promo. :-)
