A realm where on man can take the place of an entire band or an entire symphony even. Never having to deal with creativity clashes or personal issues with other band members. Where all your energy can be put to creativity. Not locked in a world of conventional instruments and as they said not needing any musical background. Able to be creative in art without knowledge of a single chord or brush stroke and can be just as visual as looking into a painted masterpiece. My slice of Heaven. ;0)
@JoobSensei You can DIY cheaper than it is to buy modular systems just Google DIY modular synths and youll find plenty. But most can be very involved. Digitally however you can get the feel for modular by purchasing Propellerheads Reason. Reason can simulate many different analog interfaces along with digital on the front face. Upon turning it around is completly modular. I would start there with a good controler Keyboard like Novation or Akai. Be prepared to spend money in any case....
would you like some footage of live improvised modular techno, gigs and studio clips ? i'm currently gigging a self contained eurorack at dance events, everything sequnced within the modular. i'm based in UK/ europe
Looks more impressive than the Moog docu. from a few years ago, which was ok but not great as it thought it was. I am glad there's hopefully going to be more (any) focus on European synth-makers and musicians (as good as north Americans are)
Looks like a cool ass film! I think I am going to purchase the Dave Smith MoPho keyboard. Anybody have any other ideas around the $800.00 price range?
@toddsines Thanks. I was looking at that synth on Robotspeak a few days ago. I would need an analog sequencer for that I think. Or maybe it has midi to cv converters? I dig the Moog Little Phatty because it has cv inputs and the mopho does not, although the Little Phatty doesn't have a sequencer.
@suitandtieguy haven't forgotten about the idea of setting up some remote interviews as discussed... STG + same goes for Make Noise + Richard Devine. so we'll be in touch about this at some point... btw, the track starting from 6:50 that ends the doc, is done by me & is part of my Wave Shaping demo for the film - makes heavy use of my Eurorack STG Wavefolder module
This looks like it's going to be a great documentary

That isn't really why I want one, but it surely doesn't hurt!
Fortunately, I have access to a modular system at school (Moog/E-mu/Doepfer) three hours per week. It is always the highlight of my week!
