@ArgonianDude thats just their thing in a way. the fallout world is like a 'What if?' world and the 'What if?' is, what if the world stopped advancing in any cultural way at 1950's while at the same time technology advanced at an extreme rate. theres more to it than that but that should answer your question.

When I started Fallout, I thought the world had ended during the Cold War but then the technology would be doubtful...
