Someones fathers might have been irish, and thus they can claim a cultural tie, or possibly even call themselves "descendants"... but if you were born/lived in San Diego, then you're an american. Your world view has been influenced by american culture, american movies, american friends and teachers. Just because someones grandmother once did a pony show with a wolfhound doesnt make them irish. And watching a Liam Neeson movie doesnt mean you understand the Troubles.

If you all want some good *Irish* bands, Blood or Whiskey, Dubliners, Stiff Little Fingers, The Pogues (They were born in Ireland and moved to England, so they count, before anyone tries to get arsy.) The Chieftains.
@Baysville irish are from ireland yes some of us may have nuthn but irish blood like i do but still be american for the simple fact we were born elsewere so what if my grandparents are irish and my mother and father were born here then i myself, still practice our families irish traditional culture but we are irish american so it is what it is
