@TonPappa The movie "300" was based in the comic book with same name, publicated in 1998 and inspirated in the movie "The 300 Spartans" (1962).

Anyway... The story are based in the "Battle of Thermopylae". A real battle between Spartans and some other greeks and persians invaders led by Xerxes.
