  • I'm trying this challenge out and the last thing I did was beat the Earth Dragon. I'm trying to beat all the bosses and I've also killed the Ice dragon.

I was just wondering if you think Leviathan or any of the optional espers are even possible without grinding to a high level and overpowering them?

  • You should try and tell me if you have the GBA version. At least you have the HP to survive Gigantuar's attacks in this challenge. For Leviathan, you could probably have Strago set up Force Field to protect against water.

  • Yes, I have the GBA version.

That's what I was thinking, the problem is Leviathan uses Tsunami instantly (if I remember correctly) so I would have to get a Preemptive and have Force Field nullify water instantly. If you can even get a Preemptive on him... I don't know.

  • Or Strago should survive it somehow.

  • Let it be known that this is the first of your videos to be watched by me with my NEW LAPTOP *angel chorus*

XP! I didn't know Mog would stay sitting down during his dance if he was at Crit XP

I know from the discription this was hard. But it looks so easy!

  • Neither did I, but that's because I don't usually use him.

  • Guardian, eh? I remember they are invincible in one part of the game (before facing Kefka as General Leo). I guess this is your chance to get payback for not being able to kill them before :P

  • Joker Doom owns em even invincible=p

  • but when you face them you only have General Leo at the time...I'd try it if I could

  • final fantasy3..do you have final fantasy3?

moogleboss on it on it on it...

    finish this right now cuz...

    drinkin drinkin drinkin....

  • Great job as always. Love the names :D

  • lol sound low :o

hm, that boss is not dificult, i dont have explication and sorry for my terrible english ^^"

  • I really like this kind of battle system with no real "turn-order". Tobad i never have played any of thses games yet :(

But a good vid anyway :)

  • You should definitely play all the FF games from the SNES era, FFVI most especially.

  • I'm getting a GBA this xmas just for the old FFs....gotta love em.

No hideous loading times like FFIX, and way more challenging.

  • lol, I actually couldn't finish FFIX for that exact reason. With the loading times and lack of a turbo function, I just gave it up and went to emulate something "turboable" instead. It was too slow.

  • Tried to replay FFIX, the equipment stealing is too tedious, battle loading times terrible and even the commands are reacting slowly....gave up at Sealion.

  • you've never finished ff9?

  • Nope.

  • all becuz of the loading times during battles?lol

oh well...plenty of other great games to play

  • Well, I'd tolerate the loading times but the game just didn't involve me much.

  • to each his own right mate?

  • Sure.

  • Sexy Loli Boss Clyde=O

  • very nice, it's great to see that many stragegy's work versus the final bosses. Looking forward to seeing the very final boss(es) fight. I happen to be stuck there

  • Are you doing the same challenge? If so, what are your levels? How well are you prepared in terms of inventory, as well as rages and lores?

  • yes, I am doing the same challenge!

for rages, I have Io and stray cat, which i think will work for me, unless I decide to go get Magic Urn. I'm around level 31-35 for everyone. I do not have grandtrain, but I have pearl wind, big guard, and forcefield (which was a lifesaver against poltergeist). Inventory has around 11 elixers, and a few shields i could use.

  • Ah, I see. I don't have the Io and Magic Urn Rages (didn't do the quests to get the former deliberately), my levels are generally lower (this party is better levelled since it has to face Inferno and Guardian). I do have most Lores but after I defeated Doom I have only 40 PDs left in stock. I'll try redoing the battle with a higher-levelled Setzer to save me PDs. Still hoping I can beat the final dungeon in one go. Oh, and my future Poltrgeist strategy involves Force Field too.

  • forcefield made the battle so much easier. It just took a while to get fire and thunder nullified, so that he could only use his slow/blaster and shrapnel attacks. I think I have thought of a strategy that would work well against the final bosses, I just havent found the right luck on the third tier.

  • Full-party Shrapnel still annihilates me so I probably need to level up some more.

  • that's exactly what i had to do. It is very unlikely that you could avoid one of those for the whole match. even after forcefielding fire and thunder

  • Yeah, too much HP. There's one strategy I'm willing to exploit and that is raging Stop with Gogo. If that doesn't work, I'll have to powerlevel.

  • Just beat Poltrgeist on my 2nd try. I'm surprised it was this easy. Didn't have to grind at all.

  • are you serious? wow! congrats! cannot wait to see it

  • Yeah, no kidding.

btw, what was your party that beat Goddess? I have my weakest party (Terra, Edgar, Sabin and Locke) up against her and I'm having a lot of trouble. Even if I use a Megalixir after Overcast, Quasar zombifies two of my characters and leaves the other two in critical (they're usually killed before they can act). I do have one strategy in mind though.

  • My party was sabin, edgar, relm, and gau. I was very surprised to win this one on the third try. Gau raged Io and that worked for about 4-5000 damage. Sabin did nothing but bum rush the whole time as my strategy was to pound out as much damage as possible before Quasar. Edgar was healing along with Relm (i put gau and sabin on opposite sides). I had edgar debilitate her to fire. I got lucky when Relm used a piece of magicite to start with (because her turn came first), and it was Fenrir.

  • Ah, Gau raging Io. That explains why it was easier for you. I've got some Magicite Shards so I may put those to good use in that battle. I don't know. The only acceptable way of dealing damage in that battle for me is through Bum Rush. Overcast is used after 8 attacks so I'm going to use Bum Rush for the first 8 turns and then unload with everyone before everyone is zombified. Hopefully, that works.

What were your two other parties, if you remember?

  • thankfully i was writing everything down as i went by. I was stupid, though, and totally forgot which team fights which, so my other groups were shadow, terra, celes, and strago... and setzer, umaro, gogo, and mog. I had that last group fighting guardian and poltergiest. Hardest fight ever was the latter of the two. Had to use my only megaelixer in poltergiest. Ive never seen Umaro be so useful!

  • Umaro, eh... I've thought a lot about it but decided not to use him at all since there's no way to remove his equipment. I imagine Poltrgeist being unbelievably hard if your party isn't balanced. Though Gogo is one sexy character in this challenge and I sometimes wish he could multiply. Umaro and Gogo are essentially good only because everyone else is diminished by the NMG rule (some by the NE too) whereas they're not.

I still haven't spent a single Megalixir and hope not to, ever.

  • as far as i remember, you only get one megaelixir. but i could be very wrong.

I figure that if you cannot remove the equipment, then it is okay. Same as when you get characters mid-fight. They still have helmets on (unless you didnt have any in stock, which was the case for me in the cranes and tentacles fights) that you can't remove. Plus the handicap of not controlling him, I figure he counts as a usable character. Gogo just spammed forcefield until fire and thunder were disable:bum rush

  • having your Locke and Terra solely on healing duty while haveing Bum Rush and Drill going constantly, you just might be able to pound out enough damage.

oh, and i just beat kefka and them, it wasnt by luck like this one was! I took a snapshot of them battle when i won, i had two characters zombied, one dead, and sabin in very critical health with the condemned counter at 01. So luck was on my side.

  • If I'm ever winning that battle, mine'll probably be just as close. I'm definitely at a disadvantage.

  • perhaps power leveling until everyone has at least 2000 health would be beneficial. That way you'd be able to survive much more

  • I guess I need just two extra levels to (barely) survive Quasar. A Thundaga targeting a single character is KO unless I radically overlevel anyway, and I think I'll need at least a dozen levels if I want to survive an MT Thundaga. I'll try my Sabin-dependent strategy today and see if any power levelling is really required.

Do you know anything about her behaviour? I'm wondering if she ever uses Quasar BEFORE Overcast (she hasn't done that for me yet).

  • uhh, she used an attack that really damaged all my people and then turned them all to condemned then zombie. They were back to back. Her bolt 3 killed any one person, but left two barely alive to be recovered.

I have been messing around with two different strategies for the end fight. One has won. But the other basing more in luck seems so much cooler.

Perhaps you could break your latter objective and just come back with your best guys? Maybe kick Atma's butt too?

  • I still have no idea what to expect from the Kefka battle. I've fought all those tiers a lot before but this'll be different.

I don't want to forfeit so soon, especially seeing how I've been quite close to winning already.

It's funny, sometimes I find myself losing because I keep screwing up Bum Rush. I know perfectly what buttons should be pressed but somehow I fail a lot. I also notice the emulator not responding to some of my other actions so it's that or my computer or keyboard. idk.

  • Okay, I can't believe it but I did end up winning on my first attempt after taking a break. Took advantage of every little thing and, God, the ending was epic. Gotta upload the rest of my Warring Triad battles.

  • oh wow, I am very impressed! I cannot wait to see it!

  • Nice job xD

  • damn thats nice and also how the hell do u survive to write that much in the description
