He is geting really boring, people are inventing new things in this moment and he is always repeting the same frases He always wants to sound deep, there is no "deepness" in swarowski in general, It's a luxury, for rich russian and sheiks from Dubai. Come on Ross, you sell your ass, dont bullshit anymore, people are not stupid as you think you are. First human limit is to think to know everything.
His love for nature and design shows when he takes notice of the dragon fly. He is inspired by nature and is passionate about putting nature in his design! Yes he may be arrogant but he has paid his dues as one of the great designers in our century.
I love his design, but his attetude sometimes is just to much, its kind of annoying. The think he said I live in the 1st world country not in the 3ld world country and bla bla bla, was kind of sad to hear.
I think he adheres to the stereotype of a designer very well. And not in a good way.
He is giving the design industry a bad name. He makes my job more difficult.
His ideas are laughable and not as advanced as he would (no doubt) rudely assert. Its interesting to note that struggles to get any of his ideas into production. I think he is afraid of the commercial realities of the big swimming pool of real life.
I'd rather say comments like yours give the design industry a bad name. If you could specify what exactly is wrong about Lovegrove's design philosophy or the works he designed - that would be worthwhile reading.
Th thing is that Ross Lovegrove works froma a very difrent position that us, he dont want things to get into production, because, they dont work for this world, I think as him as person that wants the world to turn arround and inspire things, idieas of design and arquitecture, create a new world..., and maybe only maybe he can feel confortable to get ideas into production
Lovegrove is a visionary genius. If it werent for people like him the human race would never move forward, sure, some of his ideas and designs may, at the moment, seem impractical for the real world, but who cares. His work is highly resolved, engineered, and in my opinion beautiful and ahead of its time. 50 years from now designers like Stark will be mere names in a book, while Lovegroves holistic and futuristic approach to organic fat free design will make his work more relevant then ever.
