If this does end up falling on the consumer and it will, I'm not going to sit back and take it, I will contact the companies that advertise on these channels "local TV" and explain how I will boycott their products.
The 'Local TV' will soon start to get the message pretty quick if we all do the same.
I plan on starting a website if this all goes through to list companies and addresses who advertise with them this will alow people alike to make a protest.
How can TV stations ask for such a fee, satellite and cable should be charging them for giving them extra coverage.
Because you know when they sell advertising slots they are promoting areas that only Satellite and Cable can provide, thus giving them more revenue as it is.
If the TV companies want to play games with blackouts, Go ahead! in return Satellite and Cable should black out their Advertising slots and/or replace it with their own, that way they can pull in revenue to cover the 'TV Tax'
I noticed censorship was going on when LocalTvMatters (dot) ca had a Public Message Board.
You heard me correct, most of the people were protesting on LocalTvMatters and than they closed the Public Boards and had one comment supporting TV stations.
I have zero love for the Cable and Satellite companies as I know these greedy companies are also ripping me off to no end but ultimately any fee / tax is going to be passed on to the consumer and I refuse to pay anymore then what I am already being gouged. I'm fighting back this time and I'm refusing to pay "Corporate Welfare" to these "Private Broadcasters". If this tax passes, I'm going to cancel my cable and go total Black Market for my TV. By the way, where's my bailout?
lol cable companies dont want to talk with you because theres nothing to talk about! the CRTC mandates free local tv on cable packages. they have no choice. if anything lobby the CRTC to change that mandate rather then make the cable companies charge us more
Rogers = CityTV
Shaw = GlobalTV
CTV = Bell , oh sorry, they use to own them. :P
CBC = Telus , lol
As you can see the tv and cable companies are either ripping themselves off or ripping you off.
