In my opinion, the only question is whether he toned it down because he knew there was no way to top last year or because they told him to. 2010 was pretty cool, 2011 was badass and this year was just awful in comparison to both. Some people have reported that he was on the safe side this year with his jokes, but still gave a enjoyable performance at the Golden Globes, he's jokes dont always go over well, but that more of the audience's issue. Ricky is Ricky and he don't change just to be politically correct. I do agree with Ana though that the red carpet pre-shows do have over the top presenters who seem fake and very sycophantic to the stars, but for the most part it's a good night.
