In late 30's Stalin had purged (Killed) 90% of his generals and was in a totally defensive posture. Their one foray of an aggressive nature was invading Finland, which turned out to be a total debacle for the Soviet forces. To think that the Nazis felt threatened by the Soviets in 1941 is hysteria. Soviets couldn't even adequately defend themselves in June 41...
