@CSmoCC Actually, the origin of the song, "Deutschland uber Alles", can be traced back to 1797, when the Austrian composer, Franz Josef Haydn, composed an anthem titled, "Gott Erhalte Franz den Kaiser", which was a tribute to Austrian Kaiser Franz I...the song has virtually the exact same lyrics as "Deutschland uber Alles"...in fact, in 1841, August von Fallesleben changed the anthem title to "Deutschland uber Alles"...

@LORDMCHUGH Wars like that one tend to boot employement.... the war industry takes up A LOT of resources and people in such times. Actually it is so that other industries suffer... and since a plenty of the menfolk go into war, the remaining adults fit for work have plenty of jobs in the war industry o whatever remains of the non war economy. So it is not as much a feat of the Nazi government but simply the effects of extreme militarization. The same happened across Europe anyway...

Adolf Hitler was ahead of his time. He united the German speaking people of Europe to rise up from depression and become a great nation. Much of what he did was good for Germany. Obviously, many of his policies were pure horror. It is a shame that he led Germany to such destruction in WWII. I wish it was not so. He was very inspiring to his people, and I can see how an industrious people would want to follow him. Germany must be united and defend against those who would tear it down.
