Cool table, but this is "Beirut" or "Baghdad". "Beer pong" is when you play ping pong and try to hit the ball into your opponents cup, forcing them to drink. I don't know when people started changing the name, but it sure caught on.

cool table guys, just wondering if you used a LM3916 ic for the leds that react to music, had me thinking since there are only ten outputs on that ic...i couldnt tell how many leds there were there
lm3914,lm3915, and 3916 are all 10 outputs, but you can put more than one led per output. say each has 4 leds lighting up each output then you have 40 leds. check soon for my table i'm building for my senior project its due next week so i should have vids up soon.

As a student majoring in Mechanical Engineering I am ashamed that you guys are my peers. As thakod pointed out... who the fuck plays in the dark?? This "project" should have been scrapped the second you drew up the rough sketch. I have no doubt that a lot of effort and know-how went into this table, but IMO you guys fail as engineers.

Sorry, maybe I was a bit harsh, but I still think that the collective of 4 engineers should have been able to come up with more than just a nice way to decorate a table and add couple of ball stirrers. I can't give criticism, because if they set out just to make a nice looking table, fine, they did an excellent job. If they wanted something more functional, then I can't give criticism, just ideas, and I feel that's where they "failed" as engineers.

Looks like you're using PLC's for crying out loud. There are commonly available LED scanners to make LED's go off at set intervals. And sound activated LED modules are not hard to come by either. Take a video of the underside of your table and prove me wrong. The entire table is the best one I've seen but I do know what it takes to build that and that was excessive. If you've seen the internals of a sound activated dance floor or the like you'd agree this is a little suspicious.

Very inspiring. a friend and I are creating one for WVU hockey. Our plan has 1,100+ LED's. Unfortunately we are using blue LED's ($4.49 each) for part of it. Ours will have 2 7" LCD monitors (one at either end) 4 5.25" speakers built in to it, the automatic ball cleaner that you guys used, and possibly more depending on what we can come up with

Ours will have 2 7" LCD monitors (one at either end) 4 5.25" speakers built in to it, the automatic ball cleaner that you guys used, and possibly more depending on what we can come up with
