  • As another Southwest employee I was lucky to see Joe "perform" on a few different occasions, sometimes even in the crew lounge! Unfortunately for us, he decided to leave Southwest to pursue other opportunities. We will miss you Joe, but best of luck to you in your new adventures ;)

  • Takes me back to Guam airport reunions.

    Thanks

  • Sweet! I think southwest is also the airline that does the on-flight safety show, they act the stuff out, and they add humor. They say stuff like "if these yellow and clear things pop down, they are not hats, put them over your mouth and nose if you want to live".

  • joe your cool bro. good jod .

  • cool guy, man... glad to see all the good spirits out there!

  • i'm still living on our homeland, and i must say that you're doing us all proud. the fact that you're playing an instrument that's been indefinitely linked to the islands is heart-warming and uplifting. you keep it up, man; who knows, one day i might fly southwest and we can entertain together!

  • I love this video....Good job Joe on showing that Island SPIRIT!!! I work for Jet Blue Airways and even though Jet Blue and Southwest are competetors, it's nice to see that there are other airlines out there that aren't soo stiff! Esta Laterz bro!

  • Joe you are awesome!!!!! Makes us on Guam so proud of you. Now that's "Hafa Adai" Spirit.

  • Thank you so much for putting this video up. Being a Chamorro in the mainland, I'm always looking for ways to show how wonderful our home is to the rest of the world. This was just that. Thanks!

  • this video made me happy and want to ALWAYS fly southwest

  • Southwest has the most nice staff ever

  • aww... how sweet..

  • Excellente Joe! From one SWA Employee to another, great job!

  • This is why Southwest doesn't need an entertainment system! They've got their great employees!

  • We had him singing for us a 12:30 in the morning as we awaited the arival of our plane to gate D2 this summer. We were scedualed to depart at 8:30 but our plane was held at an other airport because of a bomb threat. So he had to stay and load the bags onto the plane (he is a ramp agent) and he got us all "lost in the rock & roll.

  • Words cant explain the feeling I have from your responses, its nice knowing that customers like my attempts to brighten their day! Family/Friends know I do it for the smiles it brings to faces including mine! I give credit for what little talent I have to God's blessings & my parent's teachings, it will always be my lifestyle wherever I may be! SI YU'US MA'ASE YAN FAN BENINDISI-HAO!

    Joe Guam

I wish I could have been there to enjoy the show in person!

    Take care...

  • me too lollie. it's right next door to us. maybe next time we travel out west we'll run into him.

  • Can't beat the man for going out of his way to lift weary, cranky travelers spirits. Kudos to SkyWay Joe!!

  • I spent my childhood on Guam. This guy brought my homesick tears up big time. People from Guam are so genuine, and can turn anything into a reason to party.

  • What a guy! You go Joe

  • I love Southwest Airlines. I am flying with them March 29th and I am so excited. The flight attendents are so nice. If you watch airline on A&E the gate most staff dont care, they just want you out of their way.SWA All The Way!

  • that was really nice of him, usually gate agents just couldnt give a damn about you

  • I'm an SWA flight attendant based in PHX and he is one of my favorite Ops Agents in the whole system...sarcastic, funny, and friendly. What more could you ask for??

  • tell him hes online!

  • Mangi kantan-mu, Joe! Na magof na taotao hao! Ginen hami gi islan Guahan.

  • You can take the boy out of Guam, but you can't take Guam out of the boy. Joe, you one kaduku kid! But I'm proud to say that you are the kind of person that makes Guam special! Keep doing what you do!!! That giving Chamorro spirit is so strong in the way you helped these stranded folks out.

  • Ah, I've lived in Guam for four or five years and this makes me kind of nostalgic :)

  • This is just great to watch. Customer service professional.... Awesome, REPRESENT...

    GUAM U.S.A.

  • No words can descibe the essence of a chamorro. I love this type of jamming sessions we have anywhere [airports, babyshowers, hospitals, bedrooms, schools etc..]. Thanks for sharing this video with the rest of the world! Don't you wish you got this type of service [FREE] with every flight?

    Kass

  • ISLAND STYLE baby! Joe shows the true chammorro ways and how kind hearted we are. Joe in Arizona should definitely get a raise for making customers happy and they seem to really enjoy themselves.

    Kim

  • Hey Joe this video is awesome! Way to go the extra mile for the passengers. Southwest must be proud to have you as an employee. Say hello to your mom and dad from us. Take care- Salas in Cali

  • gooooo Joe!! love this vid. wish i was one of the ppl waiting, so i could be entertained. it's quite boring just having to read a magazine while waiting for your flight. i'd rather have this form of entertainment!!

    p.s.. i'm from guam too!!

  • You represent a great service for the airlines. You need a raise and a promotion to customer care, while waiting for late flights! Did you get a raise, promotion or both?

    K

  • what a great clip. this audience was very lucky to be entertained by you!

  • Hey!!! Joey... he still hasn't lost the ukulele touch, and it's still attached to his hip I see! Reminds me of the old college dorm days... I love it!

  • thats cool. guam was awesome. i wish i could go back.

  • I asked if I could put him on youtube and told me to call him "Joe Guam" because he's from Guam. I want to visit there now hehe.

  • I love Southwest and My daughter is also a SWA employee and she is just as entertaining. Go SWA you got what it takes!!

  • Right on.

  • The sad thing is, this man is a dying breed. Southwest used to be VERY enthusiastic about bringing the humor factor into their flights... but they got a new CEO or something who wanted to reform that whole bit.

  • That's not true. He's not a dying breed. There are tons of fun members of Southwest. We are trained to be ourselves and we can sing dance, do whatever to make the passengers enjoy themselves. Our CEO has nothing to do with employees not wanting to be fun. It's the passengers faults who complain and find it offensive that makes us have to watch what we say or do. Don't believe everything you hear.

  • Well I will admit that I heard that on the grapevine.. regardless, I love southwest and have yet to have anythign to complain about.

  • Our current CEO dressed as Gene Simmons in full KISS outfit and makeup at Halloween at the huge bash in the main offices during the entire workday. Not fun?

  • I loved the go-go girl! Wish Southwest would liberate us poor people in Augusta, GA paying $300 one-way to Atlanta, and Delta with a terrible record of cancelled flights.

  • Joe,, you are totally Southwest!! Thanks for making work a place of fun! The smile says it all! Marilyn

  • My dad works here

  • POS alive and well.

  • Go Southwest!

  • rock on!

  • You ROCK Joe!!! You ARE the Spirit of Southwest! Thanks for all you do to provide great POS!

    Luv you, PeggySue

  • And thats why I like Southwest Airlines
