  • Oh my goodness, have only just found this. It is so beautiful!!

  • Michelle Legrand wrote this song...not certain about the Lyrics. The Album is out of print, I found a type of copy on some other Johnny album but not the original. So nice to hear tho. He has appeared her recently, but I doubt whether he will sing this song, not that in demand. Beautiful either way!

  • I love this version of course but love the 1993 release on "How Do You Keep The Music Playing." I got to meet him a mere couple weeks after that release and oh my goodness; I'll never recover and don't wish to!!!

  • This was vinyl and was released in the late 70's "I was born in love with you" was from the movie Whethering Heights. There was a song on this vinyl album that I owned called Corner of the Sky. I have been searching to see if it was ever re-released and I did get a compilation, but not the original re-distributed on cd.

  • Its a good thing when Johnny Mathis came along where great talent mattered.-Not like today because the American masses prefer trash now

  • The beautiful poetry in this song by the Bergman's sung by Johnny, cannot ever be surpassed in my opinion!

  • Michel LeGrand wrote possibly with Marilyn and Alan Bergman. The song is from Michel's Piscasso Summer or for Brians Song about Brian Piccolo that was made for TV

  • what year was this ,nice job

  • cybernautev:

    Congratulations.

Johnny M. is the favorite singer of my Mom and me (because I grow up listening him).

    MariaLengruber :

    The writers were:

Bergman, Alan; Legrand, Michel Jean; Bergman, Marilyn.

    Best regards.

  • cybermautev, who did write the song "I Was Born In Love With You" ? Have You its complete?

    Please, post it.. Thanks. Maria.

  • Sorry, Maria, that's the only song I have. I don't know who wrote the song.

  • @MariaLengruber Michel Legrand wrote it.

  • @MariaLengruber I know it's been a long time so you've probably found what you're looking for, but here goes.

I found this song by Johnny on Amazon.com for 99 cents. It might still be Summer Me, Winter Me, although the title doesn't specify that. The album it's from might be out of print.

I also found in YouTube Search, other artists singing it complete.

Kiri Te Kanawa- I was born in love with you

Michel LeGrand, “I was Born in Love with You” from Wuthering Heights (1970)

  • @sekereterra

In his concerts, Johnny made a medley of this magical song with "The Summer Knows" (theme from "Summer of '42")- perfect!

  • If Mel Torme is the Velvet Fog,then Johny Mathis is plainly just Velvet.

    Ted DeCerchio Upper Darby,Pa.

  • Yes, there are many lovely songs on the Me & Mrs Jones album, Johnny did a good one when he recorded that album. The words to this song are so sweet, imagine having someone feel the way this song describes about you??? It would be right up there next to Heave me thinks.

  • This is so beautiful, thanks for sharing it with us on YT

  • I dont know this or these at all - Love melancholy and JM. Like to hear the first in full!

  • Such a beautiful discovery to find Johnny

Mathis singing this song. I wish I knew what

album its on. It would instantly go into my

cd's. I can't believe how sacred his voice is

to me. Like listening to an angel.

  • It's on the Me and Mrs. Jones album, titled "Born In Love With You/Summer Me, Winter You."
