  • lol kinda retarded

  • cool song

  • P.S the Skoda was the ONLY eastblock car that was made by a western compagny, it carried the oficcial WRC ( yes before Subaru there was also a WRC ) painting.

  • I collect only MBox Superfast- but not these.

I only collect the transitional- through the late 1970s.

Once they went to Macau- ugh! 1980's+ were the worst! The ones in the yellow boxes- wow, what crap.

  • Yes,the ones in the yellow boxes, you´re right.

I,m 33 years old and i still was able to buy some of them brand news when i was a child.

The others that i have are an heritage from my brother.

I also have some of the old ones ,with those thiny tires, before the Superfast era, made by Lesney.

    Those were cools too.

  • They did sell them in the boxes into the mid 80s. Some small drug stores had them in plastic display cases. I remember choosing a car and the store clerk would take it out of the case, put in a yellow box and hand it to me.

  • Ehm dissagree, the universal years made some verry cool ones, i have a Skoda 130, Datsun 280z, i love theme, and want a AMC / AMX DR Pepper, wil get that soon.

But yes the 70s superfast were verry cool, great paint jobs, and typpical 70s style.

  • Do you mean in quality or in speed. In quality, yes; in speed, no. But in speed, nothing can beat the newest Superfasts.

  • I mean in quality, from the eye of the collector.

Matchbox is an english brand and the english toys always had something special.

When they started to make them in Macau they lost something.

  • When did they start making them in Macau?

  • Lesney Products went bankrupt in 1982, at a time Great Britain was going through a recession. Matchbox was then sold to Universal International, who then had the diecast models assembled in Hong Kong, Macau, and Thailand, and finally China. It was then acquired by Tyco (the toy train manufacturer), which in turn was acquired by ironically, Mattel (Hot Wheels' parent company).

  • Nice history...

I like a lot the models like BMW 5-SERIES, BM 300E, ROVER STERLING, SAAB 900, OPEL VECTRA, FORD T-BIRD, VOLVO 760, 600 SEL...even more than the models made in England . The comparison with the actual models has no use

  • My grey 760 is made in MACAU while the red one in CHINA.

They have released again the T-BIRD , BMW 5-SERIES, 600 SEL, VOLVO 760 in PREMIERE EDITION but despite they look more realistic I found the wheels being too big . Besides that the fit and finish for the MACAU models are better...just my 2c. I have no one so far but I am expecting them in 2 weeks.

  • This is from the era when they started to build them in Macau.

The older Made in England models were better

  • i have the 82 fire bird at 0:25

  • i need some help finding a matchbox or a hot wheels thing could you guys help me

  • look on amazon or ebay or my friend can hook you up he has every single one of them

  • I have downloaded a commercial for the "Real Talkin" Matchbox cars. Why on earth did one of my friends years ago destroy all is cars for? They might have been worth something someday.

  • My friend took a firecracker to that Yellow dunp truck years ago.

  • lol i heard his voice crack

  • I am, in fact, the child actor formerly known as Superfast Sam!! I'm amazed that I was able to find some of my old commercials online! Thank you YouTube!!

  • Cool. What year did you do this commercial?

  • yes. lol it was a long time ago though. he did other commercials too, for Lucky Charms and such.

  • the guy who is "Sam" is my brother. =]

  • LMAO really? does he remember doing this commercial?

  • @xBeatrushx Haha :D
