1. The damaged Enterprise in the first shot is sort of a turn off...
2. When Scott Bakula's narration is playing in the background, "to boldly go... where no human has gone before", isn't it ironic to have the shot of Enterprise returning to Earth?
3. Showing the ship jumping to warp would be good, just like in TNG and Voyager
This is perfect. Whoever signed off on that lame opening they actually used should have to watch this for a week until they understand the difference between generic tripe and an inspiring intro. Of all the shows I've ever watched, the opening to Enterprise is the worst, not because it was horrible, but because it was just generic and completely boring, and missing the voiceover by the captain.
Pretty danged good. However, don't use images of the ship being torn to shit. The intro is supposed to be triumphant, and damage like that makes it feel less so.
I never thought this edit would generate so many great comments! Thanks for the kind & critical words. :)
Watching this kinda requires a bit of imagination to pretend those battle scars aren't on the ship. I may do a third edit of this to change up the opening space shots
@anslem1701 its because its a thousand times better than the way they did it on the show. I still don't care for the country music on star trek but at least the sappy lyrics are gone in this verison lol.
I wouldn't say this is perfect, but it's much more along the lines of what the intro should have been like, so well done. They may as well have had "America - Fuck Yeah!" as the theme song to accompany all the jingoistic images they had going on. I mean, no Sputnik, no cosmonauts, not even Concorde FFS.
You got it right! Like a fine scotch, it seeps though to your soul and touches you deep inside! Thank you from this ole Trekker for taking a moving piece of music and putting appropriate visuals to it. Well done mate!
Just saw Terra Nova again recently... would have been nice to see this at the start.. That episode actually reminded my sister of an episode from TOS that I've found out was called Miri. There are a few similar themes to it, but enough unique and well-done elements that it was a new story while potentially interpreted as a tribute. Somewhat like how Fringe makes some unique stories out of tributes to X-Files episodes every so often. I find it a rather nice touch.
@elcap22 Why? It was floundering far worse than TNG or DS9 ever did. Even Voyager took 6 or so seasons to flop as badly as Enterprise was doing since season 1.
@CapyGuy Now, I wouldn't say that, necessarily. It was decent, I felt, even from the beginning. I really enjoyed the final season, though. They focused on things that needed to be focused on for the sake of Star Trek as a whole, for one, and, in general, the writing was far more polished. I'd dare say the third season was already working up there, as well. And I generally found the crew to have the right stuff, as it were. First two seasons weren't often great, but there were a few gems.
@CapyGuy Why? I say why not? You do realize that if it had gone on for just SIX seasons, we'd have seen the first year of the Romulan War, right? THAT'S how close we got to seeing the most mysterious event in Star Trek history.
I think off all of theese themes I would choose this one it has perfect amount of instruments and electric guitars and its got good pics and timing BRAVO 10/10
KUDOS TO YOU, ANSLEM!!!!!! You could really show those "professionals" at CBS/Paramount a thing or two! Your version of the intro is THE intro that should have been used for STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE all along, instead of that miserable one, which featured cloudy film footage of only American astronauts and a jazzed-up remake of an old PATCH ADAMS song, that was actually used. In fact, let's throw out the old intro and regard your creation as the official intro for ENTERPRISE from now on!
i like this version of the monologue because if you think about it, in tos, we heard "where no man has gone before". in The Next Generation, it was "where no one has gone before" and for Enterprise, i like how it is "where no human has gone before.", because this show was all about how it all started. I'm surprised they picked a Rod Stewart song covered by Russell Watson, (believe me, the Rod Stewart version which can also be heard in the credits of the movie Patch Adams, is MUCH BETTER.)
THIS GEN KICKED ASS!

If Enterprise continued to it's show, this would have been season 5 opening. I like that scene.

Honestly, this is the intro that should have been-the best Enterprise intro by far- much better than the real intro
If this was the real intro, I think the series would have gone for at least 5 seasons
it really should have ran for 7 seasons, since TNG, DS9, VOY did

Definately better than the original intro!

worst Enterprise EVER!!

Seeing this intro makes me think Viacom (pre 2006) should have taken three risks.
1. Made a fifth season of Enterprise
2. Handed it over to a new production crew who would have respected the franchise but bring in new ideas
3. Put it on CBS where it at least could have had a better shot of succeeding then UPN
anslem1701 good work
